For those who know part of the story behind why the shop is called The Pied Wagtail. It’s a little joke at myself because I knew I was going to sell my photography in the shop but I’ve never been able to take a decent picture of a Pied Wagtail. I’ve been chasing my best opportunity all morning and still haven’t achieved it 😂😂 I think knits playing with me. I won’t rest 😂

So lovely to gather with my team last night to celebrate the shop and say goodbye to it.

I could not have asked for better people to run my shop with me. To know that your business is in safe hands when you’re not there, with people who love it as much as you do, get the vision, and understand the assignment, is priceless.

Hi everyone, a quick note on what I will be up to…

The Pied Wagtail will continue online. I will be working on overhauling the website. There will be a focus on my photography gifts and the feel good gifts you know me for. The general gifts which were sold on the shop that don’t have an empowerment/positive/inspirational/motivational feel won’t be sold online.

The range of cards which I’m well known for has already increased and will be available online. A lot of them are already there but I will be working on making the website more user friendly to find them all. If there’s anything you liked in the shop and want to get online but can’t see it, just send me a message.

The doors have closed to The Pied Wagtail.

It’s been a very special period of time. I don’t have the vocabulary to fully get across the beauty and connection of the last 2.5 years. I have had the most amazing encounters and meaningful conversation with so many people that have come through the door. If we have had just one conversation, please know that I valued and treasured it.

For the holiday makers that kept returning, thank you. It meant so much. I loved seeing you all return to the shop.

To the locals who have embraced and accepted me. Wow, I am so grateful for you and I love you all.

I couldn’t have imagined all the wonderful people I’ve met and friends I’ve made. The Pied Wagtail community is really special.

The shop closes on 13 April. As I start winding things up, I am reminiscing about all special interactions I have had whilst there.

It’s hard to get across to people the fact that the shop is not just a shop. People can’t fully understand.

It’s a place where people have shared their deepest secrets with a complete stranger, cried because the shop has been respite for their mental health challenges, had vulnerable and intimate conversations, laughed with others, found a gift for someone going through a hard time and the recipient has cried with joy to receive, a place where they have found hope for the future and a way to communicate with their loved ones finding life hard. Magical things have happened at the shop. Synchronicity happens at the shop.

One of my favourite moments was when an older couple came in to the shop. They were flicking through my photos and came across this photo I took of St Davids Cathedral. I noticed that the lady started to cry. I asked her if there was anything I could do for her. The couple explained that it was the anniversary of their daughter’s death who died by su***de. Their daughter’s favourite place was St David’s and they had been meaning to go there for their holiday and get a picture of the cathedral. They decided it was too painful for them to go there and they chose to come to Norfolk instead. And my shop and this photo was the first thing they came across.

The shop has not been a financial success but the shop has been successful in so many other ways. The connection, hope and non judgement it has brought to hundreds of people has been successful beyond what I ever expected 💚

Hi Everyone, if you saw my video a few months ago, you will know that the shop is due to close this year. I can finally announce the date. The physical shop will close on Saturday 13 April.

There will be some sales in store as the time draws closer.

I will also be selling some of the beautiful furniture that I have in the shop. Those book cases 😍😍 If you’re interested then let me know.

Opening times will be a bit erratic in February but from 1 March back open 6 days a week til 13 April.

One of my favourite jobs for the shop is to choose the cards. I have the best selection! And this is one of my favourites. Thinking about this card got me thinking about how this is generally the mindset of someone who decides to come to coaching. They get to a point where they cannot do what they are doing anymore and that something needs to change.

Coaching is all about unlocking potential and maximising performance. For me there is a bit more emphasis on unlocking potential. I have not yet come across a client who isn’t simply amazing already, they’ve just forgotten themselves along the way due to life circumstances. They’ve lost access to skills, values and the things that make up their identity. They’ve forgotten that they are already enough as they are. I help people remember themselves and enable their strengths to then enable the change they want.
