Recipes I find, modify and cook for my family of 5, that they actually like and are easy and relatively inexpensive to make...
Probably not for you if you're dieting mind, I tend to use all the Good (or bad dependent on your veiw) stuff...
Never Fail it said...π€
Hmmm, I'll be the judge of THAT I thought...π
Actually not bad, it isn't a giant burnt cookie (like usual) so yea a definite win... πππΌππΌ
If I had enough butter to make a second one I might actually have achieved my first proper cake cake... π€ͺ
Now just gotta let it cool and blob some butter cream on... π
I'm so not patient enough for this bit... πππ
After realising I've posted Keema Beef twice... π€¦π½ββοΈ
Let's try something else shall we... π
This is my youngest Sons favourite and it came about after I couldn't find the Homepride Tinned Sauce one day and let me tell you, I've never used the tinned version ever again, this is soooo good I promise you'll never go back to shop bought again..
We serve with Rice, Broccoli and Carrotts... ππ₯¦π₯
Enjoy... πππΌ
Dessert "Apple Pie"... π€
OK now this on is soooo easy I'm not even going to give you measurements because you don't need them...π
Get an oven proof dish...
Fill the dish with chunky chopped cooking apples...
Cover with a very generous amount of sugar...
Cover the dish with shop bought ready rolled sweet pastry...
Put in the oven on medium high heat for about 30 mins...
Serve with Cream, Ice Cream or Custard...
That's it, Simples... π€·πΌββοΈπ
Variations:
*You can add pretty much any fruit you like to this as well as apple, Strawberrys or Rhubarb is great, raspberrys or Raisins even...
*A sprinkle of Cinnamon over a just plain Apple Pie is amazing...
*The pastry you can pick your favourite from Puff, Shortcrust or Filo, I've used them all at one time or another...
Tonight's dinner...
Not the most colourful dish but packs a lot of flavour...
We serve with Flat Bread (used as a kinda scoop) making this a real comfort in front of the telly meal...βΊοΈ
For a real boost to this add a lime wedge to squeeze over everything, you won't regret it trust me...πππΌ
Something sweet for the weekend...π₯°
And both suuuper cheap n easy... πππΌ
Vegetarian Dhlal Curry...
Don't screw ya face up its bloody delicious and if you really wanted to you could add a bit of Chicken (like I do)...
Fantastic little meal and really simple...π₯°
*Possibly Vegan (without chicken obviously) I would say check the curry paste but otherwise I THINK it's OK .. ππΌ
A nice quick and easy one for the end of the day...π
This one's a firm favourite in my house and really does pack a flavour punch, there'sa bit of heat to it, not touch but if you don't like heat at all possibly leave the Chillies out all together but otherwise...πͺπΌ
Really filling too so this one goes a long way and is a good curl up on the sofa with just a fork hugging the bowl kinda deal...π€π
Most importantly its still really good cold or banged in the microwave, so any leftover wack in the fridge for tomorrows lunch... πππΌ
Almost all the Recipes on this page I've formatted into a picture that you can save onto your phone or even print out... π
I do both those things with my recipes so I always have them if I'm away or if someone wants one from me (I do get asked for them more than you'd think π) as well as a huge big binder in my kitchen where I collect them all up... π
I'm obsessed I'm telling you... πππ
Cake time... ππ°
So in my house its NO secret that I cannot do Cakes... π€¦π½ββοΈπ
They don't rise, they hate me and I avoid baking Cakes wherever possible and force my poor husband to make most of the desserts instead... π
However THIS recipe actually worked for me and if it works for ME, well it will work for anyone... πππΌ
I did use an electric mixer (it went a really almost angel delight consistency and i baked mine in a roasting tin, it came out light and fluffy and the family loved it with a nice Cuppa Tea in the Afternoon or Evening... π₯°
Here is a great simple spice table I refer to ALOT more than i care to admit, a cheat sheet if you will... π
When you cook from scratch alot it's handy to have this just poked in the front of the book...
I have this thing happen to me sometimes where I taste test the food as I go (I always do it's why ill never be skinny π) and I KNOW something is missing but I just can't quite put my finger on what it is...π€
That's when this little gem comes to the rescue... πππΌ
FLATBREADS... ππΌπ
I love this, as soon as I discovered this it changed everything...
I have a couple hungry little beans in my brood and adding a simple Flatbread really helps fill all the bellies that little bit extra for very little cost AND the kids can make them... π
Also great on a Movie night maybe with a dip (for me I love hot salsa)... π
*You can add herbs/spices to the bread to spruce it up a bit if you wanted to, maybe a bit of garlic n herb, whatever takes your fancy...
This Beef keema is Suuuuper easy, if you add Flatbread to it not only does it bulk it out (if you have a hungier family) it really does hit home, my youngest Son ATM is going through a phase where he eats "everything" inside bread π€¦π½ββοΈ so that's covered here π...
Serve with a lime wedge for a absolute game changer... π
*I use Ginger paste not root, basically because it lasts longer so I have it for multiple recipies in the future instead of having to buy a piece of root every time...
*Flatbread is so easy to make its ridiculous, I will post a recipe for those that want it later, on the page... ππΌ
