A combination of two of my favourite things- music and food
Music provided by the incomparable (big thanks for my own private concert during the soundcheck 🥹💗). Thanks for doing the scariest of concerts… you really couldn’t have been closer to the audience!
And a kitchen full of the best people cooking and serving- thanks to .baker.green , and
So glad that we had a conversation that turned into the best night - hosting is your absolute gift to the world… as well as humongous and delicious meringues 😂
I know that we have been big-ing (?) up the girls but it wouldn’t have been half as good without ‘s excellent tutorial on the pasta machine and without finishing off the night perfectly on the decks!

Ever fancied having a go at making your own bread but found the idea of it a bit daunting?
Well, I absolutely love teaching beginners! Sharing the magic of flour, yeast, salt, water and TIME is one of my favourite things.
To be honest my supper clubs and private dining has taken up a lot of my time recently but bread is where it all started for me and so I am excited to pass on the love.
I have two spaces left on my Bread Basics course which is running on Friday 23rd February at my house. Start time 10am and finish time approx. 4pm. All you need is an apron and plenty of bags to take home your bakes!
£95 per person, includes lunch, drinks and, as always, cake!
Just over a week before this happens.
I will be cheffing up a feast at with - home cooking style with plenty of comfort and sharing!
But that is not all- the fantastic will be performing during the evening. There will be a maximum of thirty audience members and so it will make for a completely unique experience.
We have a few tickets left and would love to sell out this event… if you have any Christmas money to spend then click the link in my Insta bio!

Happiest of birthdays to the amazing !
It has been a joy to be part of the journey for the last couple of years.
My very favourite restaurant…
Summer brioche custard bun 🍓
A night that went in a whirl in a month that has gone in a whirl…
which makes these images captured by all the more special - thank you 🙏
On the first of this month I was invited back to the beautiful mill to hold a supper club. It was everything I love- long tables laden with bread and flowers, large groups of friends as well as lone diners finding friends, drinks from next door , lots of local summer bounty (some picked the hour before from the field across the river ), speciality coffee paired with rosé chocolate. And the best front of house team looking after everyone! , .baker.green ,
This was also the first supper club that I have collaborated with another chef for everything from menu creation to cooking on the night, with every detail agreed on. If I am being truthful that was a little bit scary for me. But (infamous?!) made it an absolute joy, creating some amazing plates of food and organising much of the logistics. It made it so much better to have you on board! Here’s to many more 🥂
Thanks also to , , ,
So excited for this- love hosting in this beautiful space!
Come and join me next Monday for our next Lunch and Learn.
Good bread is such a treat and I am asked all the time to run a sourdough bread course. So far it’s not something I have felt comfortable doing as the sourdough that I make takes much longer than a day…
However, at last months gut health demonstration I brought along a rye sourdough that I had made to have with lunch and it ended up being the thing that most people commented on.
It happens to be really easy to make and super digestible.
And, although it does take its time to prove, hands on time is less than fifteen minutes!
And, as ever, there will be lunch and cake…
It will be held and booking is via the link in my Instagram bio or you can search for it on Eventbrite
So thrilled to be able to have finally delivered our first gut health workshop.
This was planned at the start of 2020 and was scheduled for the week when the whole country went into lockdown.
So much has changed since then and the research into this topic has gone into overdrive- lots to learn and discuss.
Many thanks to for sharing her gentle wisdom.
As ever, I am so grateful to for lending their beautiful space- it is the kitchen I know best after my own.
And many thanks to all who came through the snow to gather with us!
There is a new event happening this month on Monday 16th .
Continuing our Lunch and Learn series I will be joined by the wonderful Sue Salmon to discuss all things gut health. Sue is an experienced and respected medical herbalist with a wealth of knowledge in this subject. There is so much research ongoing in this area and I am excited to find out ways to make small changes to benefit our health.
I will then demonstrate how to ferment your own sauerkraut and kimchi.
Afterwards there will be time to gather, chat and eat lunch together!
Book via the link in my Instagram bio or search on Eventbrite.
Please share widely- this is going to be good 💗
These two home from uni has been the best present!
So thrilling that they are out in the world living their best lives, learning and changing, finding their people and learning their passions.
And then they get to come home and eat cinnamon buns and citrus fruit salad for Christmas breakfast 💗
Winter Supper Club
The light is fading and the cold is creeping in. Time to get cosy and comfortable. Time to eat all the bounty that we have picked, preserved and squirrelled away.
I love the gentleness of winter cooking- the flavours needing to be coaxed and slowly encouraged into being. The permission to be rustic and hearty.
The treasure of gathering round a laden table and feeling warm and full.
The date is the 5th of December and the venue is . To take a look at the menu and for all other details please follow the link in my bio.

I have been thinking such a lot lately about the importance of having a food community after listening to a podcast with the Indian food warrior and activist
Making and eating food together just feels so right and I don’t take it for granted that I get to do this so often.
have given me the opportunity to do this on a regular basis through using their beautiful restaurant to host Lunch and Learn days where I will be demonstrating some of my favourite recipes.
This will be followed by lunch and cake.
If you fancy joining up for this particular food community then sign up via the link in my bio- the next one is on Monday 21st November at 10am.
I am also so close to finally getting an email newsletter up and running to have a place for some writing, recipes and other stuff that catches my eye… mostly it will be food but I reserve the right to discuss pretty much everything that you would round the kitchen table!
Spreading the love of real bread… New baking demonstrations coming up! Join me to learn how to make the perfect simple loaf and then we will have lunch. This will be happening on Monday 17th October and will start at 10am. To book on go to the link in my Instagram bio- or search for it on the Eventbrite site.
Amazing results in 4 A’levels (the first exams you have ever sat!)!
As well as graduating from in Leeds this year.
All while getting up at 6.30 most mornings and holding down a part time job… oh, and there was a pandemic going on!
Whatever you decide to do next will be an absolute breeze and I know you will fly 💗💗💗 Well done
Apologies if you follow me for the food! Not too much going on at the moment but normal service will resume at the end of the Summer holidays 😂

This boy is tired… and pretty fed up. It looks so beautiful on Instagram but walking over 60 miles in four days is really hard.
And it has mostly been on A roads, side stepping the road kill and escaping up the verge when a huge lorry rumbles past.
Ethan and I have tried to keep him fed and hydrated. We have set up camp and lit fires. Ethan has used his trombonist lungs to blow up the sleeping mats.
Behind the scenes there has been poorliness (Ethan) and pain (mine from a botched filling…).
Today he is definitely asking why he is bothering. Trying to achieve a goal that he dreamt up himself. I am not sure what to tell him. What has got you through difficult times?
He needs a little love. Look him up and read his ‘Why’ in the link in his bio.
Back to more familiar stomping grounds in a couple of days. That will ease the loneliness I think. For now some time off road will have to do.
This last week has whizzed by in a blur. I truly cannot believe that it was only a week ago that we were gathered at the beautiful for the May Supper Club.
I wanted to share these photos that were taken by the amazingly talented and generous . I love the way he captures something about the chaos and joy of working together in the kitchen.
Many thanks to , , , ,
We made a great team!

May Tapas/Mezze Supper Club inspired by travel, friendship and favourite flavours!
Eight years ago during the month of May I tentatively advertised a Middle Eastern menu and invited strangers into our home to share my favourite foods. I wasn’t sure that people would really get the concept of the supper club outside of a big city and I really wasn’t sure if anyone would book on. Luckily they did and we have well outgrown our kitchen table!
We are gathering again- this time on Monday 30th at 7pm. The link is in the bio on Instagram or you can go to the Eventbrite page and search Miriam’s Kitchen Table.

Tomorrow I am baking lots of these. Please message me if you want to order some? There will also be brownies and, I think, a few slices of pistachio and lemon cake. Pick up from ours between 9am and 10.30am. The buns and brownies are £2 and the pistachio cake is £3 and payment can be cash, card or bank transfer.
I am also working on the material for some food demonstration days which I am really excited about- keep your eyes peeled if you think that this might be something you might be interested in.
Now, back to baking prep!
This month has gone by in a whirl without me putting on any new events. I, luckily, had a few things already in the diary that have kept me busy but I am sorry to say that I haven’t managed a single Saturday bake!
I am endeavoring to put that right this weekend so if you fancy ordering any cinnamon buns, Malteser brownies or slices of pistachio cake then please send me a private message with your choices and amounts along with your email address? Pick up, as ever, is at ours between 9-10.30
I am also trying really hard to master Linktr.ee to enable me to more easily communicate the different events on offer. As well as this I have come to the conclusion that I really need an email newsletter after multiple prompts from so very many of you over the years…
If anyone has any advice on either of these issues then it would really make me very happy!
This is a post to thank all of the hands that made last night’s fundraising supper club possible.
for donating their beautiful space, time, skills and all of the ingredients
for not only taking these gorgeous shots but also for staying to the bitter end cleaning up baker.green and Rob for drying and smoking the pears, helping to prep and teaching me about the flavours
for double rolling a zillion rye crackers
for prepping the best stock I have ever tasted
The lovely Sophie for working all night (someone please tag her?!)
- as ever, for everything
for absolutely saving the day and staying on to help me chef for the night even though he was supposed to be cleaning his mother in law’s house (!)
for the beautiful beers
And, of course, all of you that bought tickets and came together to eat and to help 💗
