Chairmans Address – Ramadan 2022
Asalaamu Aleikum Wa Rakhmatula
Welcome to this brief video address and hope you are all well. I thank the almighty for giving me the opportunity of sharing some thoughts with you this Ramadan.
This is following a period of health not being too good and hence the reason for not putting anything out to the community earlier.
I thank all those who have supported myself and the committee throughout the last couple of years.
Please be rest assured that work is still happening behind the scenes to resolve ongoing issues by various means.
Let me recap on what has happened in the last couple of years and some of the issues that still remain outstanding that need to be addressed:
• If you recall, we had a rather sudden change of trustees without consultation with the committee or the community and a letter dissolving the committee was delivered to my house at 11pm by 5 people who intimidated my wife whilst I lay in bed ill.
• One of the so called new trustees was a member of the committee and actually sat in a committee meeting up until a day before the letter was delivered. The others just helped themselves with the Charity Commission log-in details which they acquired without permission from a group of rather helpful senior committee members who unbeknown to us had been conniving with the so called trustees to be for some time.
• The masjid locks were changed without consulting the committee or calling a public meeting. Why was there a need to change the locks without following the due process remains a mystery to this day?
• A Mirpuri video came to light which stated no dogs/Mirpuris allowed in Masjid Ghausia. It contained very distressing images of local personalities of Mirpuri dissent.
• Committee members from the Mirpuri dissent were blamed for producing the Mirpuri hate video.
• I lead the masjid extension project dedicating many years of my undivided attention in making sure the long awaited extension project became a reality after a period of some 30 years wait.
• Other committee members were delegated roles to fulfil, unfortunately they failed to do so at the behest of others. Some of the so called new trustees were tasked to perform very important roles in respect of the construction project and yet they were no where to be seen during most of the time the extension was being built. This was despite me pleading with them for their participation to help me shoulder the burden of the work load. I suffered a heart attack whilst inspecting work in the masjid but still returned to masjid a week after suffering the heart attack to make sure my absence did not affect the progress of works.
• I tendered my resignation on many occasions, last occasion being when my late mother was ill. However I was persuaded to stay on by fellow committee members and others, some of them are now, the so called trustees.
• To those raising concerns recently about my conduct and integrity, I say to them why didn’t they raise these matters previously?
• When matters were brought to my attention, some of which were of a serious nature, me and some of the committee members tried to investigate them, sadly we were locked out of the masjid.
• The matter of certain committee member lending money to the head imam without permission or consulting myself or other committee members remains unresolved.
• The head imam resigned, he was not sacked or forced out as alleged. The head imam threatened and tried to blackmail the committee. The head imam agreed that he will stay at home with full pay whilst an investigation was conducted about matters brought to our attention. He agreed to fully co-operate but later reneged on this arrangement.
• Unfortunately due to collusion between the so called trustees, the Imam and the so called investigators, the promised independent investigation was fudged and turned out to be a none event.
• Since the ongoing issues at Masjid Ghausia from 2020 certain community members have been targeted on social media, an individual has been physically attacked and another family house has been attacked twice. Is this an unfortunate coincident?
• We did not provide an update last year, as we wanted to let those who threatened and blackmailed us, enough time to report us to the authorities, as they claimed to have damning evidence against us. We believe nothing happened and we wonder what Islam was being followed in threatening and blackmailing us for the mere self-preservation?
• As they unlawfully took over the mosque amidst many claims, we wanted to see their sincerity in implementing the many promises made in terms of provision of services and accountability to the whole community and not just a select group.
I would hope moving forward and following the resolution of the outstanding issues, I can share details of the costing of the masjid project with the legitimately elected committee and independently minded community members.
Jazakallah for listening to the video and for reading these brief notes. Have a happy and Ramadan Mubarak and stay safe.
Finally, please think carefully before you part with your hard earnt money in such difficult times whilst donating in this holy month of Ramadan.
Walikum Salaam

IMPORTANT UPDATE - MOHAMMAD RAFIQ:
إِنَّا للهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
Please make dua for our dear friend and brother in Islam *Abid Mubeen,* who returned to our creator today.
He is the youngest son of Haji Mohammed Hussain (Fenton Road) and younger brother of late Mohammed Amin (Gogi). He is also brother-in-law to Haji Yasin (Plumber) from North Street.
May Allaah grant him the highest abode in Jannah-tul-Firdose and grant his family Sabr-é-Jameela. Ameen
Look at the happiness this child gets once he receives a prosthetic hand...
May Allah Swt make us amongst those who are thankful for the bounties that he has granted us - Ameen 🙏🙏🙏
A son went to his father and said,
“I won’t be going to the Masjid anymore!”
He said,
“May I ask why?”
He answered,
“I see people on their cell phones during Salah, others are gossiping, some are not acting appropriately, they are all just hypocrites!”
The Father became silent, and said,
“OK... But can I ask you to do something for me before you make your final decision?”
He said,
“What’s that?”
The father said,
“Take a glass of water and walk around the Masjid 2 times and don’t let any water fall out the glass.”
He agreed to do what his father asked. After awhile he came back and said it’s done.
The father then asked his son 3 questions...
“1. Did you see anybody on their phone?
2. Did you hear anyone gossiping?
3. Was anyone behaving wrong?”
He answered,
“I didn’t see anything nor did I hear anything because I was too busy focussing on not spilling the glass, so the water wouldn’t fall.”
He told him,
“When you go to the Masjid, you should be focused on your Creator and not on the creation, only then you can receive the true benefit of being in the House of Almighty Allah!”

The journey is of Nearly 5000 miles pushing a 50kg cart by hand is no easy feat!
His aim is to show Islam is a religion of peace.
We salute this brother peace journey from Uk to Mecca is where you can follow his story
May Allah subhanawatala reward him for every step he takes. And May this be a reminder to some of us who cannot be bothered to drive 10 mins to our local masjid for Salah.
TEN THINGS YOU MUST NOT DO WITH YOUR CHILD
1. Screaming
Some say its worst than beating, and leaves one with long-term mental and emotional scars. Remember, the Prophet ﷺ never raised his voice on a child, women, a friend or otherwise.
2. Blaming
Blaming weakens relations, lowers self-esteem and prompts children to be on the defense, even when they haven’t done something wrong. Anas b. Malik, then a 10 year old child, said: “I served the Prophet ﷺ for nine years. He never said about anything I did, why I did that, or about anything I didn’t do, why didn’t you.”
3. Nonstop Orders
Orders and instructions, without without first convincing or persuading, turn the child into a robot and this is not healthy. When growing up, they blindly emulate and obey any authority, regardless of its values.
4. Threatening
Threatening is used because it’s a quick fix for resistance, but not a solution in the long run. Any attitude driven by [just] fear is hypocritical, and does not indicate real change.
5. Sarcasm
Making fun of a child is an unacceptable behavior in Islam: “O you who believe let not a group scoff at another group… “(49:11). Mocking a child hurts their sense of worth and self-esteem.
6. Cursing
Cursing teaches the child cursing, which he will use against others, including relatives, friends and parents. The hadith says: “A believer is never a defamer nor a curser nor coarse nor obscene.”
7. Comparing
Never compare your child to anyone, especially siblings. Comparing creates jealousy, anger and [puts them] on the defense.
8. Continuous Advising
The normal attention span is 3 to 5 minutes per year of a child’s age. Therefore, a 2-year-old should be able to concentrate on a particular task for at least 6 minutes, and a child entering kindergarten should be able to concentrate for at least 15 minutes. In the hadith “The Prophet used to take care of us by preaching during [some] days [and not others] fearing that we may get bored.”
9. Mistrust
Not giving the child the benefit of doubt weakens mutual trust, shuts frank communication and hurts self-confidence.
10. Beating
In most cases, beating a child is about parents venting anger than wisely and calmly wanting to improve a behavior. Beating, similar to a pain killer, is a temporary fix only for the parent, not a cure for the child. It creates trauma and a coward personality, which will continue to do bad things as long as “nobody is watching”.
Dr. Hesham Al-Awadi, author of "Children Around the Prophet: How Muhammad ﷺ Raised the Young Companions"
A man said to Imam Hussain راضي الله عنه "My grandfather was so generous that if a man asked him 50 times, he would give without tiring. Imam Hussain said, "My grandfather was so generous that if he ﷺ gave once then there wouldn't be a need for anyone to ever ask again."

Jummah Mubarak 💚 May Allah swt grant us all the blessings of this sacred day 🤲🏼
Some beautiful practices of Haji Peer Sahib (Gulhar Sharif) which we can all adopt.
1. The Shaykh would often buy fruit and veg from those who pushcart sellers. It was once said, "Sayyidi, why don't you buy fruit and veg from a supermarket instead?" The Shaykh replied, "These pushcart sellers are poor people, they work hard as laborers. Therefore, they have a greater right that fruit and veg, etc. is bought from them."
2. If during a journey, Haji Peer sahib ever stopped at a petrol station and used its washroom for ablutions etc., then he would intentionally go to the shop of the petrol station and buy a vast amount of things. If someone commented that the Shaykh has bought many items from the petrol station shop and these items are much more expensive in comparison to the shops in the market, Haji Peer sahib would reply, "We used the washroom of the petrol station and used their water, for this reason, it is their right that we make a purchase from their shop; they should receive some sort of recompense for their services." The Shaykh would then distribute what he had purchased among students, guests, and children.
Someone asked the grandson of the beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ - Imam Al-Hasan ibn Ali, عَلَيْكَ ٱلسَّلَامُ,
“How is it that people who pray at night are always the most beautiful people?”
Imam Al-Hasan, عَلَيْكَ ٱلسَّلَامُ, replied,
“Because they are alone with the All-Merciful, who covers them with light, from His light.”
