Kitchens that sing with sociability ✨.

An island is the focal point of many of our handmade kitchens, creating an inviting space to gather, cook, dine, and host.

Accommodating both day-to-day life and home entertaining, we ‘zone’ our designs to provide practical space for meal prep and cooking, as well as dedicated areas for dining and socialising. This can be achieved through a split-level island featuring contrasting worktop materials, comfy upholstered seating, and a thoughtful lighting scheme.

As part of our eco-conscious efforts, we're proud members and regular contributors to the Woodland Trust, which has been guardians of the UK's woodlands for 50 years.

For every handmade kitchen we create, we donate to support their vital work in protecting, restoring, and creating woodlands and trees across the UK, which positively impacts people, wildlife, and the planet.

A dream combination of soft green shaker-style cabinets, exposed stone walls and rustic wooden trusses give this beautifully bright kitchen its unique country charm.

You don’t have to fire up the barbecue to achieve a deliciously cooked burger.

This epic steak burger can be cooked to perfection on the BORA Tepan grill. The steaks are seared with butter, rosemary, thyme, and garlic for flavour-packed meat before being served on a toasted brioche bun and topped with a spicy BBQ sauce.

Having previously taken the title of ‘Young Designer of the Year’ in the 20/21 Kbsa awards, Charlotte was delighted to take a spot on the shortlist this year in the ‘Kitchen Designer of the Year (over £50k)’ category.⁠

All submissions to the Kbsa are made anonymously, not mentioning the company or client name, so the project is judged on true merit, recognising excellence in the industry. ⁠

✨The Kbsa winners will be announced on 9th October 2024 at a glittering awards ceremony. ✨

The kitchen is the bustling hub of the home, but with thoughtful design, it can also be a calm, serene space.

This is achieved through relaxing colours and textures, a carefully considered lighting scheme, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow with expansive glazing or easy garden access.

Functional design is also key to creating a sense of calm with distinct zones for cooking, dining, and socialising. Thoughtfully placed storage, sockets, and appliances add to the ease and make being in the kitchen enjoyable and stress-free.

As we’ve had quite a few new followers recently (hello 👋), we thought we’d share an overview of the KC Design House story 📚…

✨ Upon leaving school, KC founder Richard Jewkes joined his family’s business in Wakefield, specialising in kitchen appliances and servicing.

✨ Richard quickly took to the challenge of problem-solving and learned the importance of excellent service and customer satisfaction.

✨Richard's perfectionist attitude and hands-on approach led to a series of impressive property renovations and the identification of a market gap for bespoke kitchens.

✨ A bespoke kitchen company - initially named Kitchen Creations - was added as a concession to the site in Kirkgate, Wakefield.

✨ Richard later moved the company to a new, dedicated site in Clayton West, designing its iconic showroom himself and expanding capabilities with an onsite workshop.

✨ The business rebranded to become KC Design House and extended its design services beyond kitchens to other areas of the home.

✨ KC Design House has celebrated 43 years in business and has become synonymous with innovative, handcrafted interiors and outstanding customer service.
