Wadsworth Landscaping & Construction
We can offer a wide range of option to help you get your dream within your budget but still provide the highest quality.
From fitting new internal doors, to a full internal refurbishment, a new fence to a full garden overhaul.
Very strange few days. Never have we stolen the neighbours front lawn and put it in the customers back garden 🤣. But there is a first for everything.
So we have dug the front garden out to put hardcore down to add additional parking and to save the one customer buying fill and the other paying to remove it we have just done a swap.
A warm one today 🫠🥵. Definitely glad I took the canopy with today for some shade.
Another pack and a half gone in the wall today. 3 more rows on the side wall then onto the back wall to get that up to height on Wednesday.
Just had some update pictures sent through from a good customer of ours.
We completed this driveway during COVID time in 2020 very tricky getting hold of materials but 4 years later and this driveway still looks the day we laid it.
Shows how a small amount of maintenance each year really helps keep your driveway looking fresh.
We used granite stone Plaspave Sorrento on this driveway. Gave it a very modern look to the front of the house.
More blocks laid today 3 packs down 3 packs to go. Then after work some maintenance on the truck with some new brake pads
Started on the block walling today. Coming along nicely.
Longest side is all filled in to the step ups so just 3 step ups along the back to fill in and the blocks will start flying in.
Concrete footings are in on our new project 4.5 ton of concrete mixed onsite as too far from the road for ready mix and pump would blow the budget.
Leave it 2 days to go nice and solid and Thursday we will be back to start getting some blocks down
Another 2 concrete pads to go in over the next 2 days 🫣
A busy day today daylighting out the foundation drain starting to bring in soil to fill in low spots and also removing the high spots as we dropped the garden room into the ground below original ground level.
We also leveled out the area we tipped the soil from the excavation works creating a 50+m² area that can be used in the future if desired.
Last day on site tomorrow for now so will be a big clean up and moving operation as we have lots of tools to move. The digger, dumper, Wacker and mixer to name a few we need to squeeze onto the trailer.
The base is down and compacted. We have got the sleepers in place almost ready to start laying.
Unfortunately because we are starting a new job next week it does look like we will be coming back as and when to finish the rest of the pathway be it evenings or weekends but the higher ups have always been aware of this and are happy to just have some form of path for access at the moment.
Tomorrow we will be finishing around the edges of the path and sorting out the final grade around the path and garden room. Hopefully we can finally remove the Harris fencing and reveal to everyone the new counselling pod in all its glory.
Excavations for the path complete. Other than abit of hand digging along the wall getting the crumbs as last thing I wanted was a broken window on the lovely new garden room.
10 ton of recycled hardcore also arrived nice and early thanks to MJB Excavation & Plant Hire LTD
SO what are we doing next week at Forget Me Not Children's Hospice .....
Well when we originally quoted for the garden room the path was left out to keep costs down. But we felt that leaving the building inaccessible by wheelchair or even by foot on a wet day wasn't right....
So after speaking with our amazing paving supplier RF Landscape Products - RF Paving who have very kindly agreed to donate the porcelain at their cost, we have decided to donate our time to build the pathway to connect the building to the rest of the paths around the garden to give full access for everyone to enjoy they new room.
A massive thank you to RF Paving who have made this possible with their kind donation. We have used this company directly for all our paving requirements over the last few years and even longer before through another supplier and we have never had any issues. They provide a fantastic product with an even better service. Nothing is too much just a call to my Rep Steve and the order is on its way, Sometimes the same day if Steve is in the area and can fit it in the pickup, so again a huge thankyou to everyone at RF paving we look forward to many more years working with you.
Keep an eye out for more updates next week as Monday we are ready for more excavation work and a delivery of 10 ton of hardcore to get this path underway 🎉
Well .... Slightly sad realisation that this is the end of the garden room project for Forget Me Not Children's Hospice 😔
But this also means the start of an amazing new space for the hospice to use as the new counselling room.
Today we have gone round finishing all the little details that needed it, getting the skirting boards on and window trims on and finally the Air conditioning was fitted. 👌💪
Don't worry this won't be the last post from Forget me not as we will be back Monday 🤯 so keep an eye out for our next post to see what we will be doing here next.
A big shout out to all of our contractors and helpers who have smashed this project out the park we couldn't have done it without you. 👏
Laminate flooring is down in the garden room just skirting boards and trim on the door. And that is a wrap for this one. Or Atleast the garden room we have yet to start that pathway but that's another exciting project.
All of the cladding is now done and trimmed up around the doors and corners
Air-conditioning is installed inside just needs connecting up outside and will be ready to go.
Leaving just the laminate flooring to put down and the skirting.
Been over to the garden room today to empty the dehumidifier, adjust the doors and also check out the new lights and sockets 👌 looking absolutely awesome just the flooring and skirting now and the inside is ready for handover.
Lots happening today we have had the plasterers in which has transformed the room completely.
And then we have been cladding the outside of the building. Giving it a new look altogether.
We have the electricians back tomorrow finishing off the electrics and then finishing touches next week.
Will soon be ready to hand over to Forget Me Not Children's Hospice 🎉
Electrician was also on site today to connect into the main building. We got the final section of ducting installed under this block paving.
We carefully lifted the blocks so that we could relay the area so that it looked like we were never here.
Fully plasterboarded, joints taped and corner beads installed around the doors and ready for plaster tomorrow.
Vapour barrier has been installed all around on the walls and the ceiling and taped at all the seams to create an air tight seal.
The garden room is finally watertight. Roof is completed as are the facia trims just the gutter to go on one day this week.
Plaster boarding tomorrow 👌
End of another busy week at Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. Not had such luck this week with the weather but we have still pushed on and got the building watertight. Both sets of doors are in giving the space inside a bright open feeling and it also gives fantastic views of the beautiful gardens. We also have the facia boards up ready for the rubber to be permanently fitted on Monday finishing that off 100%
That leaves the cladding... the plastering... Electrician and air-conditioning engineer and lots of little finishing bits and we are ready to hand over.
Very exciting times ahead.
Insulation day today. Got all the walls cut in and filled using 120mm PIR insulation. We got most of the roof insulation cut which is 150mm ready to slot in once we get the rubber roof on and the building is watertight.
Fully structurally boarded today around the outside then we added the breathable membrane and the battons ready for the cladding.
Final progress report for the week.
Roof is fully boarded, all the sides have been squared up and leveled and braces in place ready for full boarding on Monday.
The electrician has been to get first fix done so we can now insulate and board ready for the plasterer. Coming together now
The garden room is taking shape now. Start of the roofing sheets going on today hopefully get the roof ready for the rubber tomorrow and get some of the sides and back boarded up. We also have the electricians coming tomorrow to start first fix.
Coming together now.
Here is the time lapse footage of stage one on the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice garden room build.
This show all the stages we took to get to this point in the build.
Breaking ground on a garden room to floor level time lapse for a local children's hospice.
And thats it for the groundworks of the garden room at Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, Finally fully out of the ground. Stage 2 of the building to start next which will be the structure.
We have some time lapse footage of the first stage of the build to edit and add to a video that will be posted soon so keep an eye out for that.
225mm joists going in with 100mm PIR insulation and 22mm OSB3 flooring all glued and screwed. The joists and flooring are secured to the concrete foundation using Simpson strong ties to prevent wind uplift.
Thrilled to be part of this fantastic project that will help so many people in the future.
Foundations are complete and ready for joists tomorrow. The block work is set to finished floor level so allow the walls to sit on both the floor and the wall for maximum stability.
