Netherton Methodist Church
Our village church offers a mainly traditional service on Sundays at 10am, with Junior Church.
Hello wonderful parents and community members,
I hope this post finds you well. I'm reaching out to share an exciting opportunity to come together and make a difference for our little ones at the school.
We have a dream - to transform our Early Years outdoor area into a vibrant and stimulating space for our children to learn and play. However, the truth is that we have little or no budget to make this dream a reality. What we do have is lots of vision and enthusiasm!
This is where we need your help, dear parents and community members! We are calling for your creativity, skills, and resources to join us in a community 'big build' project. We are looking for gardeners, builders, joiners, tree cutters - anyone who is willing to lend a hand and contribute to this fantastic cause.
We are in need of bark chippings, wooden gates, wood pillars to create a stage, pond lining for a dig pit and various materials to bring this project to life. Our proposed dates for the 'big build' are from August 27th to 30th, during the summer holidays - a perfect opportunity for us to come together and work on this project. We can provide cake and refreshments plus the sense of achievement you get from helping a great cause!
Let's make a difference together and create a magical outdoor space for our children to enjoy and learn from. Your support means the world to us, and together, we can achieve great things for our school community.
If you think you can help in any small way – please can you vote on the survey below or make a comment below. We have some clear ideas about what we’d like to create but we are really open to suggestions!

We had a fantastic visit from Class 1 of Netherton Infant & Nursery school on Monday. Revd Tim explained about lots of the things we use in church and how they are important to us. The children behaved beautifully and even joined in with singing a song! They drew some amazing pictures of the things they could see. We look forward to seeing Class 2 next week!
Don't forget we are uniting with our friends at South Crosland CofE Church this morning for a 10am service. All are welcome to join us.
As we head towards the events of Easter, join us this evening for a short, reflective Holy Week service at 7pm. All welcome.
Feeling hungry? Pop down to our coffee morning and get yourself a bacon or sausage sandwich. Today 10am - 12 noon. Friendly faces and plenty of chat to keep you company - or bring your friends.
p.s. we don't have eggs, we just thought the background was nice!!
You are invited to our coffee morning, this Saturday (24th) from 10am until 12noon. And we are back with bacon and/or sausages sandwiches with optional tomatoes and mushrooms. For those with a lighter appetite, come for a coffee and a biscuit. Bring your friends and chat away the morning! 😁🥪☕
Don’t forget- it’s coffee morning day! 10am - 12 noon. Bacon sandwiches, current teacakes and more! Come and join us! ☕️
Come and join us this Saturday (27th) between 10am and 12 noon for our first coffee morning of the year. We’ll be serving bacon sandwiches, current teacakes, crumpets and more! The storm is meant to have left us by then, so gather your friends and have a catch-up chat over coffee with us ☕

Whatever your plans are, have a great Christmas. 🎄
Look who's back in the village! Once again our knitted angels have flown in to bring cheer to homes this Christmas. As usual, feel free to take them home or pass them on to someone who would like one. Don't worry if you don't find one today as more will be out and about over the coming days.
Tomorrow we will be CLOSED as we join other local churches at South Crosland CofE to attend Revd Julie Anderson’s farewell service & faith lunch (10am). This is a change to our published plan.
Come and join us this Saturday at 3pm to hear the Meltham & Meltham Mills Brass Band. Tickets £8 including light refreshments - pay on the door.
We will remember them
Unfortunately, due to illness, we have had to *CANCEL* our regular Coffee Morning in November (Sat 25th) - it was meant to be our gorgeous bacon and sausage sandwiches 😞🥓🥪
But don't worry, we're still having our Brass Band concert the same day so why not come along to that instead? Details on our previous post!
And we'll keep you posted on when the next coffee morning will be happening.☕
