The landscape of our face will keep changing over time whether we choose to do something about it or not.

This lady, like many of my patients, chooses to see a pleasing change. I used a combination of treatments to achieve the look she has in the lower image.

Ordinarily I tell you what I did, but today I’ll let you spot the subtle changes, which have given her an enhancement that looks natural.

We make lots of facial expressions in a day and skin that is strong, with ample collagen and good elasticity can resist the mechanical stress it undergoes. However, skin that is of poorer quality will buckle and wrinkle.

My patient had already been treated by myself with traditional filler. This had the desired result of restoring lost volume, making her look fresher and less tired. However, as can be seen her skin quality showed room for improvement when making facial expressions.

I used a product called HArmonyCa - a HYBRID injectable, which has increased the hyaluronic acid content in the treated area, adding subtle volume, already demonstrating that the skin is able to resist the mechanical stress of facial expressions.
In the coming months this product will lead to an increase in the amount of collagen in her skin, further enhancing her result. Thats what we call a WIN WIN!

When you snap a photo half way along the treatment process to show your patient the immediate difference and it’s this good! 🙌🏽😃

The treated side has less of the fine lines beside the mouth, looks lifted and altogether fresher.
The product I used here: HArmonyCa has given an immediate improvement from the filler part of it gently volumising the area. However this is only the beginning, as the skin quality is going to keep improving over the coming months through the product stimulating collagen synthesis in the skin.

Notice how the treated side looks slimmer, has more of a youthful shape. There is no puffiness, no over-filled look.

Inevitably we all start to see a drop in our lower face, which is due to the affects of ageing. If what you see is bothersome or you simply want to look your best then it’s time to book in a consultation with me.

There is an undeniable change in this after image - my patient looks lifted AND she doesn’t look heavy/puffy or over filled.

I used a hybrid injectable HArmonyCa - the Hyaluronic Acid in it gives an immediate support to the dermis by adding volume. The other component Calcium hydroxyapatite provides a scaffold to support the cells called fibroblasts, which produce extracellular matrix, leading to collagen formation.

Only 2ml of filler used to achieve this very impactful result for my lovely patient.

- 1ml to improve her chin projection, which has had the most dramatic impact in terms of making her lower face look younger and less saggy, by taking the attention away from the jowls.

- 1ml of a very subtle, elegant filler, to gently enhance her lips and reduce perioral lines.

This young lady wanted her jawline to look more contoured, without any surgical intervention and within an affordable budget.

After assessing her I knew her biggest win would come from addressing her chin projection. Chins that lack optimal projection lead to the lower face looking heavier, as you often see a fullness in the submandibular region (double chin) and may even see a marionette shadow at a young age.

I treated her with 1ml of filler and yes this result can be further enhanced with more filler, should she wish to further improve the area.

A hollow temple shows the skeletal outline of the upper skull and we perceive those with hollow temples as perhaps looking more tired.
When there is significant hollowing the perception can even be of poor health, due to a gaunt appearance.

This lovely patient is neither in poor health or tired, and she did not want the hollowing in her temples to suggest otherwise. I treated with 1ml filler, each side, and she has a beautiful restoration to the outline of her face.

Notice how her outer brow is now also visible, due to the additional support it has from underlying volume replacement.

Yesterday I posted this patients result from a non-surgical rhinoplasty. You may notice in this photo that the tip of her nose is more lifted and appears slimmer.

We made good use of the remainder of the filler and softened the chin crease.
The further benefit of this is the downward rotation of her chin, as with ageing chins start to turn up.
Lastly taking away distractions like the chin crease brings the attention back to her lips.

My lovely patient is a big Beyoncé fan and she connected with her very own Sasha Fierce after this non-surgical rhinoplasty.

(For the non Beyoncé fans - allow me to explain:
When Beyoncé wants to show up as her most powerful and confident self she refers to herself as Sasha Fierce).

Physical aspects of ourselves that we’re self conscious of can often hold us back. This lady gave herself the best Christmas gift ever by addressing one of her insecurities, freeing her to be her most wonderful self!

I achieved this result with 9ml of filler over two sittings. The after image is taken after her second treatment session - the lip and perioral region is therefore a little swollen and red.

I want to send a big thank you to this lady for trusting me with her first filler procedure and allowing me to share her results. She primarily wanted to reduce the appearance of lines in the lower face and address the feeling of sagging.

The best way to address sagging is always surgical, but when that is not what the patient wants and accepts that non-surgical work won’t give the same outcomes, but will still give a refreshed look this is absolutely a great choice.

These lovely lips belong to a lady who is visiting from San Francisco, so I was deeply honoured that she chose me to treat her. 😊

Her main wish was that her lip enhancement should look natural.

Before proceeding with any treatment I discussed the details - to ensure she knew what was and was not achievable, the potential complexities and, as always, took a detailed medical history.

ℹ️ The details:
- she has an ‘M’ shaped upper lip - the trickiest type of lip, in my opinion, to fill.
M shaped lips appear to have an over exaggerated central tubercle, as to the side of the central part the lip there is a relative lack of volume. In addition this area arcs upwards.

The filler has to be placed so that it does not further accentuate the central part of the lip. Aiming instead to ‘fill the arc.’ However, the mouth is a mobile structure, hence one should never be over confident in promising that the filler will stay exactly where it’s placed. I have strategies that reduce the chance of migration (all of which were put into practice here).

Her mouth corner, particularly on her left points down. This can be subconsciously perceived by others as the person being low.
Adding a touch of volume to the lip beside the mouth corners can reduce this. However, this has to be balanced, as too much lateral lip filling produces a trout pout.

The white lip directly above the lip border has a natural fullness, what I refer to as a white roll.
Where this is present I stay well away from the lip border, as that would exacerbate the appearance of the white roll, creating a ‘ledge’ above the lips.

Her upper lateral lip is quite hidden, especially when she smiles. Hence, I added a muscle relaxant injection, which will take up to two weeks to reach full impact. Once it does it will turn out the sides of the upper lip giving not only more visible lip show, but also make the lip look more positive.

You know, I could write more on the detail, however this is a lot to read. Hopefully, my post will highlight that there’s a lot of thought that goes into every single treatment that I do. Every injection serves a strategic purpose.
