What a Thinking day I have had. Tonight I was lucky enough to be joined by Lizzie and Charlotte from Papworth Brownies and Guides and we went along to Huntingdon Community Radio to chat to Norman all about Thinking day. Lizzie and Charlotte were brilliant on air and deserve a great big THANK YOU for joining me! If you listened you'll know Charlotte loved looking the part with her big headphones on!

Happy Thinking Day to all our members, and to our Girlguiding and Girl Scout sisters across the 152 member countries of
This year is the 98th time Thinking Day is celebrated and the theme this year is 'our world, our peaceful future'. In 2020 WAGGGS asked members under 18 from across 100 countries what issue they were most concerned about and the environment was number one. This year's theme is the final part of a three year journey for Thinking day to have an environmentally aware theme.
Thinking Day falls on half term for us this week but I'm sure many units will be celebrating over the next week or so, how are you celebrating?

If you were at the award ceremony on Saturday did you, like me, enjoy Ann's wonderful talk about the heraldry of our standard? Did you know we reproduced the county standard badges back in 2020 and you can buy your own copy in pin and woven versions ๐
As afternoons go this one was fabulous! 585 years of long service celebrated today with one wonderful volunteer being awarded her 60, yes 60! Years service. We also awarded some other extra awards for our wonderful volunteers. Congratulations to each and every recipient here are just a few pictured!
Big thanks to Claire for joining us and to Ann for the wonderful talk about the heraldry and history of our standard. Extra big thanks to Trefoil Guild Cambs West for their help too.

Some of our members have had a real adventure today as they attended Girlguiding in London.
They had the red carpet treatment, were treated to special entertainment and even bumped into the Chief Guide!
Members were invited to attend if they had earned their Queen's Guide, Silver Fish, been nominated to attend or in Sues case to celebrate her Laurel Award! ๐๐ฟ
Loves Farm Guides had an incredible night for when Cllr Lara Davenport-Ray joined them for the evening.
They had some hearty debates, learnt all about the different levels of government and shared their ideas about the local area.
Hopefully they inspired the next generation of local councillors!
Do you have an incredible team that deserve some extra recognition? Maybe another leader has helped you out loads this year? Maybe your commissioner was extra supportive this year? Please think about nominating them for a county award.
