Living rural, breathing rural, thinking rural - helping rural businesses to be noticed
Social Media Management is often misunderstood as companies wishing to make a 'quick buck' sell their services with promises, which can rarely be kept. On the other hand there is a lack of understanding of the difference between posts by private individuals, media companies and those of other businesses.
Companies should never forget that it is 'Social' media - hence posting purely about your products and services might not work well. Nowadays a social media presence on the right channels is absolutely essential to build a business brand and awareness. Posts should be frequent, entertaining, educational, inspirational and only a small percentage should directly sell a product or a service. The social media presence of a clothes retailer or beauty products company is, of course, quite different to that of a hotel, a therapist, an AV company or solar panel installer.
You'll rarely find reviews of good social media management companies, as they are the voice of their clients and hence rarely identify them. It is also rare for a business to mention the agency, which creates their social presence. So receiving below absolutely made my day... 😊
This just popped up on the Facebook memories (5 years ago)! Our image has changed a little, but we still do what we did then!
Thank you to all those clients, who have been with us from the start 😀👏

Share the love!
Engagement is a prime indicator for organic reach.
A 'like' or a 'share', better still both and a short comment - go a long way towards helping a small business grow!
that a bad social presence can hold your business back? Time to fix it! Make sure you have: up-to-date branding; fresh, regular content; spell-checked posts; good quality, relevant imagery; relevant hashtags per channel...
One size does not fit all 📏📐
Quality content needs quality images to gain organic reach.
Post image sizes:
Facebook: 1200 x 628 pixels.
X/Twitter: 900 x 450 pixels.
Instagram: 1080 x 1080 pixels.
LinkedIn: 1350 x 440 pixels.
Your business social media channels are still SOCIAL media - not selling sites! Engage your future clients with a colourful diet of content of which only 20% should be sales/promotional based...
I never knew I worked fast enough to be mistaken as a Bot by the Meta systems...😆😂🤣😆

It's the 5th season in Germany - perfect to counter the January blues!
Even though exuberance, joy of life and the fun of celebrating are the top priority everywhere, there are still some regional differences in the “Fifth Season”. Almost everywhere in Germany people are celebrating from the 11th day of the 11th month from 11:11 a.m. until Ash Wednesday, only in southwest Germany, the “crazy days” start from January 6th, Epiphany, which is a public holiday in these regions.

It's Carnival season in Germany!
“Carnival” means “meat – farewell”
The oldest known literary mention of the “fasnaht” can be found in Wolfram von Eschenbach’s “Parzival”. The term “Vaschanc” also appeared in the 13th century in southern Germany and in the Bavarian-Austrian region.
“Carnival” has been attested since the 17th century, but the history of the word remains unclear. The most common explanation today refers to Lent as a meatless time and sees the origins of the term carnival in the Latin “carne vale” (“meat – farewell”).
Carnival = Karneval - Rosenmontag - Faschingsdienstag - Aschermittwoch
Just a little different in Germany than in the UK, just as the timing is...
This years dates are 12th, 13th, 14th February
The custom of eating doughnuts during Karneval dates back to the Middle Ages and is linked to the fact that Lent takes place after Karneval. The idea of eating donuts over this period was spread by the church.

December 14:
A very traditional ornament on a German Christmas tree are straw stars. They are ornaments made of straw and are considered a symbol of the manger in which the baby Jesus lay. The most popular shape is a star.

December 13 Lebkuchen is a typical German Christmas treat and comes in all sorts of shapes with differing recipes. In cities like Nuremberg and Aachen, the delicacies have been produced since the Middle Ages. The history of gingerbread begins with honey cake, which people in ancient times enjoyed. It's soft, spicy sweet and similar, but not the same, as gingerbread. Spices used include anise, fennel, ginger, cardamom, coriander, mace, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, cinnamon and even pepper.
December 12
The Christstollen symbolizes the Christ child wrapped in swaddling clothes and embodies the birth of Jesus. It reminds us of the spiritual meaning of the Christmas season. Originally called Striezel, it can be traced back to the year 1400 in Dresden. It was first presented as a Christmas treat at the Saxon court in 1427.
December 11 It would not be Christmas without a Bunter Teller under the Christmas tree. Translates as Colourful Plate and is loaded with all sorts of Christmas specialities.
An old children’s song called “Lasst uns Froh und Munter sein und uns Recht von Herzen Freu’n” (Let us be happy and cheerful and rejoice with all our hearts) first mentions the Bunter Teller in the mid 19th century. Before that there is not really anything that documents this Christmas tradition.
