January may be one of the longest and coldest months of the year, however the variety of produce it sees is always exceptional with some firm favourites returning to store.. Such as sweet and tangy blood oranges, new crop Cyprus potatoes and Lychees from Mozambique 🇲🇿

December is here and brings with it a great selection fruits and nuts.. Lots of customer favourites are coming to fruition such as Spanish Navel oranges, Clementines, aptly named Santa Claus melons and californian walnuts for you to crack into!

We have all bases covered now and things will only get sweeter as the days go by..👌

What is a custard apple? Is one of the most common questions asked in store lately..

The custard apple, officaly known by the name Cherimoya is an amazing fruit native to central and South America. It has many relatives such as Soursop and Sugar apple which is also in store at the moment..

What does it taste like?
They have a very sweet flavour, and as the name suggests the texture is like custard, and the flavour is unique almost like a tropical vanilla and banana ice cream!

When to eat?
When they arrive in store they are usually hard (unripe).. When they're ripe and ready you should be able to open them by hand simply by pulling them apart from the centre. Make sure to avoid chewing the many seeds and you will love them 👌

These golden nuggets that go by the name of Loquats have quickly become a customer favourite!

They originate in China and was first cultivated thousands of years ago, they have since been adopted around the world 🌎 Ours are grown in sunny Spain where they go by the name of Nispero.

If you haven't tried them yet expect a unique flavour somewhat reminisce of Apricot or peach with the tang of citrus

Breakfast radish bunches are the latest addition to our salad selection 😍 Sure sign summer is on its way when these show up!

Garlic appreciation post 🙌🧄

Here at Forest Farm shop we love our garlic, which is why we make a special effort to bring you a variety of the best garlic available!

In store at the moment we have... ▪️Classic smoked garlic, which always spreads its aroma across the store and adds a smokey depth to any dish in which it graces
▪️Wet Garlic, when available it is always a favourite for our customers, slightly milder than mature bulbs, it's perfect for many dishes, especially good when roasted!
▪️Spanish large bulbs.. these speak for themselves, ever reliable and always packed with flavour.
▪️Last but not least Wild Garlic. Those that know about it wait patiently all year for it to come into season, its flavour is mellow when cooked, but when used raw it packs a delicious punch 👊

Strawberries and sunshine we can't think of a more perfect combination ☀️
We've had the first arrival of this summers British strawberries today, grown in the Wye valley region.. and they taste even better than they look! 🍓🍓

Widely known as pineapple guava, the Feijoa is packed with sweet flavours.. Those that try it compare the taste to kiwi, pineapple, strawberry and even bubblegum!

Salad weather is here and hopefully here to stay 🤞

We thought we should highlight some seasonal gems in store at the moment, that will bring life to any salad..

Radicchio- absolute Italian favourite, its bright colour complements its bold flavour, it adds a nice bitterness and crunch to a salad

Growing lettuce- The famous trio of lollo rossa, lollo Bionda and Oak leaf lettuce, all three are at home in any salad, just keep adding water to its roots and they will keep on growing!

Mooli- This crazy looking type of radish has a pleasant mild flavour with a crunchy texture much like carrot..

Italian bunch radish- Classic salad staple.. this is grown with love and it shows in the flavour!
