Now that the bonfire is burnt, thoughts are turning towards Christmas ❄️ Ness Gifts will be transformed to its usual winter wonderland this week, and some new stock will be added for the festive season. We will be open every weekend, but also some Thursday evenings in November and Decembers so people can pop in after work. Our gifts are all made in Scotland by Scottish artists and makers, with many of them being within a 50mile radius of Loch Ness. So as well as gifting something truly beautiful, you are supporting local small businesses. 💝

On such a dreich day, there was only one thing for it! We unpacked a couple of boxes of new stock and injected a pop of colour on to the shelves! Both of these beautiful ranges of glassware are from brand new Scottish based glass artists, and I hope you love them as much as I do! I had planned to keep them till the Christmas changeover, but I could t help but share them with you now! After a successful day’s shopping at on Monday, I need to have a bit of a clear out to make space for my new finds!! We have a sale table, with a whopping 25% off everything on it! Some of our most popular brands are included, so pop in and grab a bargain or treat yourself 😍

We are now fully restocked with the super popular, iconic carpet bags. Personally delivered from Tain, just an hour up the road, where they were hand made using their own woven carpet fabric, these bags are stylish, comfortable, hold everything you could need, and can even be popped in the washing machine if needed. We have picked up a few of the new designs, but ANTA kindly made up some of the old favourites especially for us 😍 You can’t even buy these anywhere else just now!! Everyone who owns an ANTA bag knows how special these bags are! Who said you can only own one??!! 😂

We are so lucky to be able to stock Kirstin Grant’s beautiful makes - she is such a busy lady I don’t know where she finds the time to be so creative. But lucky for us, she does! Check out our new bespoke Loch Ness hanging hearts. With a hand painted view from Dores. 😍

We’ve all been pretty fed up with the rain over the last couple of months, but these Scottish Rain candles and wax melts by new supplier smell so fresh you’ll never get fed up with them! Or if you prefer a warm and cosy smell, opt for Whisky Barrel instead. Candles come in large white glass jars or small black tins, and wax melt bars are also available.

We just LOVE these wee soaps! Painstakingly crafted in layers to make up the background, the water, and of course the hand carved Nessie, these are just the cutest locally made souvenir you could possibly choose 🥰🥰 One of the first items I sourced from an independent crafter when I was setting up the shop, and it seems you love them too so they’re here to stay!

Another introduction to new products in the shop… These Pocket Poem Packs and Positive Poem Books, written by are the perfect gift for someone in your life who might need a little encouragement, motivation or inspiration. Or keep them handy for yourself, and dip in to whenever you need a little reminder of how strong you are. Kelly is a full time carer for her autistic son, so knows all too well how important it is to stay positive, so her mission is to spread joy at the sane time as helping those who are struggling with their mental health.

A new and exciting local business in Dores, just across the road from Ness Gifts - Loch Ness Rib Rides. You’ll find the ticket office tucked behind the Dores Inn. Head down to go for an exhilarating ride across the loch to get your photo taken with the beautiful backdrop of Urquhart Castle.
