We love when our employees give back to their local communities, and through our Change for Charity initiative, we’ve been able to donate almost £20,000 to local charities across Scotland and England.

Earlier this year, we were delighted to donate £800 to Aberdeen-based charities Mrs Murray's Home for Stray Dogs and Cats and Aberdeen Cyrenians.

A spokesperson from Mrs. Murray's Home for Stray Dogs and Cats said:
‘The money from Arnold Clark will go towards our ever-rising veterinary bills, which is a big part of our budget. As you can imagine, with the cost of living and price increases, we are seeing a lot more animals needing veterinary care when they arrive at the centre. This donation of £800 will help to cover the cost of some of these bills and allow us to continue helping these animals.’

We're delighted to announce the opening of a new Motorstore in Chertsey near London.

Arnold Clark Motorstore is our used car supermarket. On site there will be over 300 cars on show and ready to test-drive.

The Motorstore, located on Staines Road, is now open and ready to welcome customers.

We were delighted to hand over a 17-seater minibus to Cardinal Newman High School at our Kilbirnie Street Vanstore. This will provide transport for school activities, but also help them give back to their local community with volunteering at local nursing homes. Head Teacher Robert Smith says he is thrilled with this donation as it will help the pupils continue their incredible work.

We're delighted to introduce our newest franchise, GWM ORA.

Our new branches are now up and running in Glasgow and Stirling, where customers can test-drive the all-electric GWM ORA models available on site – as well as preview the exciting new models coming later in the year.

As part of the ‘Inspiring Automotive Women – Who inspires you?’ campaign led by the Automotive 30% Club, we’re delighted to recognise those who are working tirelessly to improve the gender balance within the automotive industry.

That’s why we’d like to nominate Linda McMenamin, our Head of Aftersales Operations. Having risen through the ranks of Arnold Clark, Linda uses her platform to help support others, especially other women, within the industry to reach their full potential.

She has been instrumental in the success of our Girls with Skills programme, highlighting the opportunities that are available to women within the automotive industry while using her own story as an example of the heights that can be reached.
On top of this, she acts as a mentor and coach to the Aftersales Development team – using her experience to offer support and mentor individuals to progress further.

Linda has been a shining example of what women can achieve in the automotive industry, helping to inspire others to reach their full potential. For these reasons, Linda McMenamin inspires us, but ?

Through our membership of the Automotive 30% Club, we’re taking part in their ‘Inspiring Automotive Women – Who inspires you?’ campaign by shining a light on those who consistently champion a more inclusive and diverse workforce in our industry.

Lynne McBurney, Arnold Clark’s Group People Director, is one such employee. A champion for equality within the automotive industry and a trailblazer for innovating new ways to support women, Lynne has spearheaded a number of important initiatives and programmes at Arnold Clark in recent years such as our partnership with Womanthology, the introduction of family-friendly policies to improve our employees’ work-life balance and the creation of our Women in Sales and Drive Together networks –platforms for women and the LGBTQIA+ community to share best practice and offer support.

A role model for employees across the business, she uses her platform, both online and in person, to highlight important issues and ensure that women are heard within the industry and in wider business – appearing on podcasts and visiting schools and universities as part of the Automotive 30% Club’s campaigns.

Lynne has made it her mission to improve the employee and customer experience at Arnold Clark and remains a role model for everyone in the company; this is why she inspires us. ?

Our Change for Charity initiative allows employees to donate the change from their pay cheques to nominated local charities, and we’re delighted to have donated almost £20,000 to charities across Scotland and England since 2022.

Having donated £800 each to Ayrshire Cancer Support and Whiteleys Retreat, it’s amazing to hear the difference that our employees’ donations are making within our local communities.

A spokesperson from Whiteleys Retreat said: ‘These vital funds help us to ensure that families are aware of the therapeutic respite and extended support we provide to children, young people, and their families, with cancer or life-altering illnesses across Scotland.'

Last month, we were delighted to host the inaugural Arnold Clark Schools’ Cup at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium.

The Arnold Clark Schools’ Cup finals saw 20 teams compete to be crowned national champions in the English Schools' Football Association's U16 – U18 age groups.

Always going above and beyond to help support those affected by cancer, Systems Audit Manager Stephanie has been fundraising for the Beatson Cancer Charity since 2018.

With help from fellow colleagues from our Arnold Clark Kilbirnie Street, Bishopbriggs MG, Stirling MG/Mazda, Irvine BMW, Ayr Kia and Ayr Peugeot sites, over £2,400 was raised from their Halloween fancy dress day, bake sale and raffle.

Including many virtual and in-person fundraising events, such as the Kiltwalk, Off the Beatson Track and Santa Dash to name a few, Stephanie has raised an incredible £14,585.92 in total for the charity. Well done, Stephanie!👏 💛

Last year, Arnold Clark Inverness MINI donated a MINI Countryman to the Highland and Islands Blood Bikes so they could continue to deliver vital medication and resources for the NHS around the region in the winter months.

Gordon Scott from the charity said: "The car made 111 deliveries for the NHS while it was with us and contributed around 20% of our total miles. It’s been to almost every hospital in the region, and around 20% of its deliveries took urgent medication directly to patients’ homes in the region."

Congratulations to Arnold Clark Ambassador Robert MacIntyre on his first PGA Tour title at the RBC Canadian Open, securing his place at the US Open in the process. The win was made all the more special as his caddie for the weekend was his father Dougie, who is usually the head greenkeeper at Glencruitten Golf Club in Oban.
