Our Sea Lock keeper will be working between the Sea Lock and Banavie swing bridge today, so the Sea Lock office will be closed for some periods, and boat traffic will take priority. We'd like to thank walkers, cyclists & paddlers in advance for their understanding if they seek to arrange access to canal facility blocks⛵🚤🛶

**Loch Oich compost toilets closed**

Due to damage caused by recent Spring storms, the composting toilets at Leiterfearn are currently closed. There are no alternative toilets nearby so please be sure to follow the Scottish Outdoor Access code for responsible disposal of human waste 💩

**Storm damage to trees at Loch Lochy Trailblazer rest site**
Please be aware that Spring storms have caused damage to trees at the 6 Bears Stop Trailblazer Rest Site on Loch Lochy, which means camping spots are more limited.

Loch Lochy Trailblazer Rest site is moving in Spring 2023!
To facilitate the exploratory work for SSE's Coire Glas pump hydro scheme, the Glas Dhoire Trailblazer Rest site has closed and a fantastic new informal Trailblazer Rest site is being created a little further south. It will have level camping pitches, a shelter and composting toilet. More info about opening date soon! 🚶‍♀️🚶🚣‍♂️🚴

Glas Dhoire Trailblazer Rest Site Closes prior to relocation

The shelter and composting toilets at Loch Lochy have today been closed prior to being relocated in the Spring as part of SSE's Coire Glas pump storage hydro scheme exploratory works. More details about the new site to follow shortly!

In line with national guidance and as a mark of respect, Scottish Canals will close on Monday 19 September for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II State Funeral.

Our waterways will remain open for public use such as paddling and cycling, and boating customers may continue to navigate locally; however to allow all our staff and volunteers to share in this important national event, locks and bridges which require manual operation will not be in use and our visitor centres will be closed.

All premises will reopen, and services will resume as normal on Tuesday 20 September.

**KYTRA informal camping spot CLOSED**
Due to the impacts of overuse we've had to close the informal camping spot at Kytra Locks. Wayfarers should use their 'plan B' alternative spots for overnight camping and always follow the . Please remember the canal is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, so wild camping isn't allowed on the canal banks outside designated spots. 🙏🚣‍♀️🚴‍♀️

Looking for a key to access the canal's toilet blocks?

Due to ongoing recruitment challenges and limited staff numbers, Corpach Sea Lock office won't be staffed permanently in the coming weeks. Also, our Inverness office will now be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. If you'd like to rent a key, please visit the Inverness Office, Monday to Friday 08:45-16:15, or call us on 01463 725500 to pay over the phone and have one posted out to you 🚴‍♀️🚣‍♀️🛶🔑

** REMINDER West district mobile lock and bridge operations July**
Whilst we try to recruit more seasonal staff, our small but dedicated team of lock keepers at the west end of the are currently working as a mobile team covering multiple locks and bridges. Please allow extra time for your trip and follow the instructions on local notices if you arrive at a site and the team aren't there. We're sorry, but this means that boaters' diesel and facility block keys for walkers and paddlers aren't available at Corpach Sea Lock just now 🙁. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Please allow a little extra time for your trip and follow the instructions on local notices if you arrive at a site and the team aren't there. We're sorry, but this means that diesel isn't available at Corpach Sea Lock for now 🙁
