Maybe now that the summer months are coming in, although you can't tell with the weather, we have lots of people making moves to raise money for The Oxygen Works! The lovely Shani is powering through the miles to raise money through her sponsored cycle to celebrate her 40th Anniversary and Chris is also starting his Summer Cycle Challenge in the coming weeks! 😍Friday Roundup😍 Our last Friday round up of 2023!! I feel so sad!🥺 It has been an absolute pleasure bringing you all the news from the centre this year!☺️ What a fantastic year we have had!! We have been non stop across all services and are running into 2024 with a waiting list that heads well into spring time for the Oxygen Chamber! WOW! This is a rare situation for us to be in and please know that we are getting to everyone as quickly as we can. If you are on our waiting list for the chamber, however, remember we have many other services here at the centre that are all available for booking throughout the year😍 We have had many highlights this year here at The Oxygen Works! We were the nominated charity back in May for the Inverness Chamber of Commerce, Highland Business Awards which was a fantastic evening and great for The Oxygen Works to be showcased in front of so many local businesses. Not to mention the fantastic amount of money that was raised for us on the night🤗 In April we were incredibly fortunate to benefit from a donation of solar panels for the centre. This has been an amazing addition and has been instrumental in reducing our monthly outgoings. We are so grateful to all the businesses who were involved in making this happen🙏 We completed a year long project in August with Pilotlight. This was a real dig deep into the depths of The Oxygen Works and how it works. It was a hugely eye - opening and beneficial project which we thoroughly enjoyed taking part in along with our board and team. It has been vital in planning for the future of the organisation💪 Our therapists, Move4ward Samantha McCowat Natural Healthcare Inverness and Kasia Bowen Ness Clinic have been working extremely hard this year and have been fully booked for the majority of the year. It’s #MSAwarenessWeek, from 24-30 April. and we are getting behind the new national #MSMakesMe campaign to get people talking about how #MS makes them feel 🧡 The Oxygen Works was originally founded to support people with MS and we are hugely proud of our heritage and the community of individuals living with MS that we continue to support. We are seeing more people diagnosed with MS reaching out to engage with our services year on year 💙💛💙 Nobody experiences MS in the same way, and we know that living with the condition can bring up a range of emotions. Sometimes people feel angry, scared or hopeless. At other times they may feel brave, resilient or strong. Will you share your unique perspective on the emotional impact of living with MS? To join the campaign and help to get it trending, comment or post using the hashtag #MSMakesMe followed by your word or message about how MS makes you feel. Post as many times as you like. You could even take a photo holding your word(s) on a piece of paper, or record a video telling us your story.
