Another week has flashed past and we are hitting the weekend feeling grateful for another positive week!💪

😍On Wednesday we welcomed the wonderful SportsMed Products Ltd lads who were removing and replacing our Anti Gravity Treadmill. It has become apparent over the months that whilst the treadmill has been an amazing addition to our services, the model we had needed replaced to one which was more suited to support the rehab clients that we and Move4ward see in the centre to improve accessibility to the equipment and help them feel more secure.
😍As you will have seen we also had a lovely meal with the Rotary Club of Inverness Culloden on Tuesday. What a lovely bunch they are and we are thankful for the support they have given us.

😍We are really pleased to have been chosen as the nominated charity of the year for Highland News & Media!! We are incredibly hopeful that this will be instrumental in raising the profile of The Oxygen Works as well as essential funds! A huge thanks to Darrel for putting our name forward for this.

😍We have started collating the data from our recent client survey that was emailed out a few weeks ago. If you are still to fill this in please do so. The more responses we get the more accurate the information and the better we can be at knowing what further support we can offer to our TOW clients.

A huge GOOD LUCK to our chair Mark Georgeson who is taking part in the a triathlon as part of the Aberfeldy Multisport Festival.

Mark says..." I personally suffered a TBI in 2018 and both of these charities have been instrumental in my recovery. So much so that I am completing the event in 4 weeks that I was training for in 2018 when I was knocked off my bike leading to my TBI among many other injuries. Whatever you can donate would be gratefully received 🙏"

It was our pleasure to be invited to speak at last nights meeting of the Rotary Club of Inverness Culloden. We were made to feel extremely welcome and enjoyed a lovely meal with the members before Leigh-Ann gave a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.
It was great to hear how the Rotary Clubs around the world are so supportive of each other and how they work alongside other organisations such as PhysioNet by gathering unwanted mobility aids and wheelchairs to ship to countries who can't gain access to these essential items.
This is clearly a very supportive and well respected community and we can't wait to return!💛💙💛

We have had a good week this week getting everything in place for our RAFFLE being drawn NEXT FRIDAY!! This week we welcomed our Men's and Women's Wellbeing Groups. Both were well attended and as always its great to hear the buzz of the chat around the centre.🥰

We had a lovely meeting on Wednesday with Neil from teclan Ltd. Neil has organised a Golf Day at Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club in September to raise funds for The Oxygen Works! There is still space for a couple of teams so if your business or anyone you know would like to take part then then do let us know. We are incredibly grateful to Neil and the team for putting together this wonderful fundraising event! AND you get a bacon roll! 😋

REMINDER
Physio services will be slightly disrupted on Tuesday and Wednesday next week with work that is taking place with the replacement anti - gravity treadmill. Please bear with us if there is any noise or disruption.

Welcome to August! We hope all the parents are prepared for the kids heading back to school. For those who attended Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival last weekend, what a fantastic time it was! We also caught up with the lovely Lindsay and Louise from Esthetique on Tuesday. It was great to learn more about their extensive range of services and their commitment to high safety and ethical standards. It was a pleasure reconnecting after meeting at the Royal Ascot Ladies Day at Kingsmills back in June 😍

We’re incredibly proud of the diverse and inclusive community we’ve built here at TOW. Our clients are travelling from increasingly distant locations to access our unique services, and we continue to be amazed by those coming from across the globe—most recently, from Germany and India! It’s truly a privilege to serve such a wide-reaching community.

It’s been another busy week, with most sessions fully booked. As a gentle reminder, please ensure your bookings are made and paid for in advance to avoid disappointment 👍

Jenni and Leigh-Ann had a very special visit through to Forres yesterday to meet the wonderful team at AES Solar.
You may remember that Jamie and his team were part of the collaboration who amazingly donated our solar panels last year! This has resulted in crucial savings here at The Oxygen Works and helped us so much in reduction of costs for our ever increasing fuel bills.
Not only did they provide our solar panels but the team are undertaking a gruelling cycle in September to raise funds for the centre. It was great to be able to share the TOW story with them and let them understand how crucial this fundraising us and how much it helps the TOW community. We had a lovely lunch with some of the team including the gorgeous Nala who happily rested her head on Jenni's knee until she gave her a sausage roll! Well, dogs deserve the treats too don't they!! 😁😁🐶

Given the current financial landscape, we're seeing an increasing number of people seeking financial support, which we are eager to assist with at The Oxygen Works. However, due to our own financial constraints, it's challenging to meet the growing demand. We already subsidise core services like HBOT, Theraplate, Physio with Kasia, lunch, and wellbeing groups by an average of more than 50%, making it difficult to offer additional financial aid despite our best intentions.

We do have an Oxygen Therapy Wellbeing Fund that people can apply to, but this is supported by our own fundraising abilities which is becoming harder to maintain and is limited in its support.

We're pleased to share a brilliant resource available for our clients to explore for financial support: The Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need 2024/25. This resource lists around 1,800 charities offering grants totalling nearly £376 million, covering a whole range of needs.

A copy is available at the centre for anyone who wishes to take a look through it to see what individual grant funding opportunities may be there to support them.

Green Energy and Expansion Opportunities 🌱
Lots of discussion and exploration for growth this week. Progressing funding applications to further develop our green energy generation as we look to install more solar panels and storage batteries to reduce costs and lower our environmental impact. We have also been having discussions to look at potential options to expand our operations within the centre and across new areas - the ability to access health services is vital for the wellbeing of our community across the Highlands and Islands.

Peak Holiday Season 🌞
We are in the midst of peak holiday season here at TOW, with the team taking some well-earned annual leave. We look forward to welcoming Jenni back next week. We have a busy week ahead, with lots of meetings from the The Neurological Alliance of Scotland to NHS Highland Tissue Viability Nursing Team. There's always so much going on behind the scenes as well as front of house.
