The Rotary Club of Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay
The Rotary Club of Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay have over 20 members, and meet every Thursday online You will be made most welcome by our members.
Our Club was formed on 19 April 2007 and our time so far in Rotary has been extremely enjoyable, fulfilling, and eventful! We are part of the largest charitable and service organisation in the world but we never forget to have fun in the process, whether we are raising money for good causes or working with other Rotary Clubs in the North East on joint ventures and larger fund raising projects. Thr
Each year, we invite local clubs and organisations to apply for funding through our Funds4You program towards specific projects that they might have during the year. The funding criteria should include help towards the purchasing of equipment to be used by their organisation. This year we received a number of applications, and were able to assist most of them
At a meeting of our Club, we were able to present cheques to the successful applicants, several of whom are shown in the attached photos.
Great to catch up with Steve Wright from The Rotary Club of Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay today. Visitors Day at RYLA Boys was great fun with visitors from across D1010. It stayed dry during the all-important morning events and the visitors didn’t need an ☔️ 😊
Thanks for visiting and glad you were able to see the antics this morning.
The Rotary Club recently had a visit and tour round the Boskalis DSV, BOKA Atlantis, an evening well spent in the new Aberdeen South Harbour, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed getting to see what goes on aboard these complex vessels.
Working in the North Sea, the Atlantis is a Hybrid Diesel Electric Dive Vessel, with an energy storage system, operating on complex projects throughout the North Sea. The vessel is equipped with twin Dive Bells, 18 man capacity for deep sea diving, as well as ROV and a 140T subsea crane.

Merry Christmas Everyone! We hope the festive spirit is starting to spread. We are delighted to now be able to share with you the details of when we will be es**rting Santa round the area this year.
Thursday 7th Dec - Conglass, Inverurie
Friday 8th Dec - Kemnay
Sunday 10th Dec - Kintore
Monday 11th Dec - Westgate, Inverurie
Tuesday 12th Dec Osprey Heights, Inverurie
Wednesday 13th - Osprey Village, Inverurie
Please check this page each day for a link to a tracker where you can follow Santa’s progress round your area. Then all you have to do is listen out for the sleigh and follow the tracker so that you can come out and see Santa when he passes.
All money raised will go to local charities and good causes in the Garioch area.
We are also on the look out for any volunteers who could help us es**rt Santa on his journey. If you are a member of a local community group who is able to help, please get in touch and we would be happy to make a donation to your cause as a thank you.
We look forward to seeing you all out there.
*We have to add our usual note that we are sorry that we can’t take Santa to every street in the area and that we can’t guarantee which streets Santa will visit in each area advertised. We are a small group of volunteers with jobs and families, spending some time trying to raise some money for good causes while hopefully spreading a bit of cheer. Where we take Santa depends on many factors like how easy it is to turn the sleigh in each street, how many houses have children, etc. Plans can also be affected by the weather and how many volunteers we have that day. If you really want to see Santa please follow the tracker and come find him. Moaning on social media will not make us more likely to take Santa down your street.

Back in 2021 our Band turned 100 years old but unfortunately Covid put a stop to all the events we had planned. It seems wrong to let this special birthday pass by without recognition so we have decided to hold a belated celebration this year instead.
This will be a chance for Band members past and present, families and friends, supporters, and all in the local community to come together and celebrate this huge milestone.
We would really appreciate your support to make this a night to remember!!
Please use the link below to purchase tickets - any queries please don’t hesitate to message this page or speak to any Band member.
Tickets are only available until Wednesday 13th September - don’t miss out!!!

District Governor Handover lunch in Aberdeen today. Good luck Jim😃
We were delighted to welcome John Dossett and his family to our meeting tonight, where we presented him with the Citizen of the Year award.
John was nominated due to the support he has given to the Kintore community for years, with many pies, sausage rolls and hot drinks handed out on chilly nights, suppling to local causes when needed and doing what ever he can to help all year round.
I’m sure you will all agree, a very worthy recipient of the Citizen of the Year award!
Well done John, from all of us at the Rotary Club of Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay!

We are doing a collection of items for Abernecessities in Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay.
After hearing about the amazing work the charity do, we wanted to give our communities somewhere to drop items off locally.
Currently, they are looking for the following:
- Nappies
- Formula Milk (currently facing an inflation rate of 11%)
- New underwear and socks for Boys and Girls of all ages
- New toiletries for Babies and Teenagers
No child should go without, anything you can donate will be well received by young people throughout Aberdeenshire.
For drop off points please message us, in Blackburn the drop off point is Kinellar Hall (contact hall staff or Steve Wright). We’ll let you know where to drop in Kintore or Kemnay.
