Been a very busy boy this summer, here's a small sample of what I've been up to. Restoration and decoration of this conservatory. Existing repairs had failed miserably but this ones here to last 💪
Big repair made to the rounded section of the sill, 95% of the putty replaced, some repair care in action as always and all finished in Dulux Weathershield Gloss.

Bit of wood butchery going on this week, repairing this old coal hatch cover as it got into quite a state. A bit past repairing so opted to just knock up a new one.

After the wood butchery it was knotted twice and given two coats of wood preservative, 2 coats of Zinsser 123+ and finished with 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior

Pale Powder Perfection -

Recently completed this room for a client of the brilliant interior designer

F&B Wimborne White in Dead Flat for the ceiling and woodwork with Pale Powder in Dead Flat for the walls 🤩

Absolutely love the colour scheme in this room and the curved walls are beautiful too.
As always an absolute privilege to work in beautiful homes such as this one.

Curved skirting boards were pulled forward slightly, fixed into place and then chamfered off using as the previous two part filler wasn't allowing any movement hence the cracking. Joints also opened up on the door and filled with RepairCare SF to resist any future cracking 👌

Lots of prep needed to bring this lovely example of victorian design back to life. Including some serious cracks in places.
Many imperfections sorted but not all as customers wanted to still keep the 'aged' look.

So many beautiful details on this one 😍

Lovely modern HSL completed recently.

Woodwork sprayed with Scuff X Semi Gloss using .professionals XVLP 5000 - This was my first time spraying internally, pleased with the finish I was able to achieve, there really is no where to hide when spraying though, your prep has got to be perfect 👌

Ceiling & Coving were finished with the new Ceiling Paint - Very Impressed with this gear, really white and leaves a flawlessly flat finish. Recoating time is slightly longer than other ceiling paints but it's worth the wait 😎

Walls finished with my go to Isomat Premium Color - offering a very high durability with a super flat matt finish, perfect for HSL area that gets a lot of traffic. Colour matched to a Valspar colour by

I present to you one of the most beautiful jobs I've had the pleasure of carrying out.

What a spectacular entrance, now looking the way it deserves to.

Everything was painstakingly stripped back to reveal all the details that had been lost to the endless layers of paint.

The door was finished by hand in F&B BlackBlue and the frame was sprayed using HVLP and laid off in F&B Strong White - colour matched into Tikkurila Unica Semi Gloss & Valtti Opaque respectively.

While restoring the doors I previously shared I was also decorating the courtyard exterior of this old coach house.

All timber cladding was sprayed with Black Barn Paint in Satin
& The windows and doors were finished with Aura Satin.

Also a few finishing touches refinishing the door steps and also applying WD40 to the leadwork to renew the colour and make it look less faded.

Nice little job this week decorating this garage door and windows, inside and out.
Using Isomat Isolac Satin in F&B 'Green Blue'

Door stripped right back, weather bar removed and replaced, a few small repairs with Dry Flex 1.
Doorstep sanded back and given two coats of UV Protection Oil.
Outdoor light cleaned and given a coat of Polytrox colour restorer.
Door hardware sprayed black and new cast iron door k**b fitted too.

Freshen up for the outside of this property completed recently. All Windows, front & back doors and garage door frame.

Everything staying white but ensuring the correct prep has been done as the previous person to paint them had done a sub standard job leading to the paint failing in a number of places.

Tidied up some rough repairs on the front portico too.

Lots of prep on this one sorting out some poor previous crack repairs on the ceiling that left a nasty lumpy finish, not helped by contract matt being used. All sanded smooth, cracks repaired and then finished with Teknoceiling02 to leave a super flat matt finish 👌
Plus sorting out all the usual rubbish you find on a newer house 🙄

Little Ensuite completed recently in Isomat Bathroom & Kitchen Paint colour matched to Dulux Heritage Slate Grey

Gorgeous barn conversion bedroom completed earlier this year.

Farrow & Ball Modern Emulsion in Light Blue No.22 for the walls, panelling and wardrobes for a uniform finish the whole way round the room creating a really comforting atmosphere.

Very pleased to announce I have won the Repair Care project of the year for the repairs I carried out last summer😁

I was already so pleased how that job turned out, but this takes it to another level to know the company who makes the products I used also thinks my work is worthy of winning their competition. 😊

If you aren't aware, Repair Care is a specially designed epoxy resin product that allows you to repair damaged or rotten Timber with repairs that will last as long as the timber itself. It really is a miracle product🙏

We are happy to announce Blackburn Professional Decorators as our Project of the Year 2022 winner!

This project which consisted of a restoration of external sash windows and a front bay window on a Georgian/Victorian town house, stood out due to the quality of repairs and knowledge put into practice directly from a training course. Will Blackburn carried out high quality repairs using the entire range of Repair Care products.

This is one of two guest bedrooms I completed a full decoration of for a returning customer.

Lots of repairs needed to deal with various large cracks as well as one wall needing all the paint and plaster scraped off as it hadn't adhered properly. This was scraped back, stabilised, worst bits filled and then lined with wallrock fibre liner. The ceiling line cracks were raked out completely, stabilised and then repaired using reinforced corner tape.
When you come across large cracks or problems like these it's really important to take the time to rectify them properly to help ensure they don't come back.

The colour scheme was expertly chosen to perfectly compliment the homes age and decoration style. Creating a light but warm space.
F&B Wimborne White on the walls & woodwork with F&B Bone for the wardrobe doors.

All ironmongery was cleaned and polished to finish it off nicely. It's all about the little details 👌

Last year I carried out the decoration of the ceilings, walls, woodwork and also the renovation of the oak flooring on this 3 floor Hall, Stairs and Landing.

The walls were painted with Isomat Premium Eco. This is the perfect paint for a high traffic area like this. It offers the highest scrub rating available, meaning marks can be simply wiped off the surface. Helping to keep it looking fresh for longer. While still providing a perfect flat matt finish.

This was colour matched to Little Greene's Green Stone Light.

All woodwork was finished with Benjamin Moore, Scuff X in super white. Offering an almost unrivalled durability for the woodwork that will also stay white and won't yellow over time.

Floors were cleaned and sanded right back and re finished with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil in a matt finish.
