Fabulous night had by all celebrating another great year with the team. Belstead Brook Leisure Club
Another great project completed.
The Waitrose refit at Storrington has been completed. This project, being a small branch, required a closure and had its challenges for all concerned. The branch looks fantastic, the new equipment and system has been installed and is operating to support the client specification. Another good looking refit achieved, the team involved should be proud of what has been accomplished.
Tonight is the night we find out...
Engineers work with the skilled workforce to make a difference.
Oaksmere are immensely proud to have been an essential part of a team developing, designing, and implementing a vital cold storage facility for GlaxoSmithKline at their Barnard Castle manufacturing facility. GSK are one of the world’s largest and pioneering pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and their new 3,000m3 cold store suite will act as essential pre delivery storage of cold chain pharmaceutical products, including biopharmaceutical, chemical drug products and vaccines.
Oaksmere partnered with ISD and Clade to deliver this innovative CO2 based refrigeration project and utilised the CFD modelling skills of Wirth Research to underpin the design philosophy, providing absolute client confidence prebuild. The project has been completed successfully and provides GSK with a world class facility going forwards.

MEET Jack He started working for Oaksmere Design ltd as a level 2 apprentice administrator. He then gained his level 3 in Business admin and became a project controller but he didn’t stop there. He is now transitioning to working in the engineering team after passing his HVAC fundamentals course.
Here is what Jack has to say…
I have recently completed a course in HVAC Fundamentals. During the course I had the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the HVAC system such as, how they work, the principles of thermodynamics; different types of boilers; the air-conditioning refrigeration cycle; and cooling systems. Also including details of the different key components within a system; evaporators, condensers, compressors, ventilation, and air pollutants, contaminants, and much more.
I have completed 8 different modules with a final assessment to finish it all off. It took me 7 months to complete passing every module on the first attempt and scoring an 81/100 on the final assessment. I am very proud of this as you get 12 months to complete the course.
We at Oaksmere design say well done Jack this is an amazing achievement and look forward to seeing you meet your full potential with us.

Ever wondered what a project manager in Engineering does?
Well here is a week in the life of Karen Boom – Project manager at Oaksmeredesign
Monday starts with a virtual meeting day. The Energy Team catches up with contractors and suppliers involved in our LED Lighting Upgrade project helping our client achieve “Net-Zero” carbon emissions by 2030 and reduce energy consumption by 25% by 2028. I love being involved in projects which are making such a difference in energy reduction.
Tuesday I’m in Ashford to carry out a post sign off snag inspection and receive training to resolve some ongoing maintenance issues. I feel super supported in my new role with Oaksmere. No two days are ever the same and though the project complexities are ever evolving, help is only ever a call away.
Wednesday I am at home planning site visits, dealing with correspondence and updating the project database. Ensuring that information is kept up to date is vital in ensuring that everyone has access to the most relevant information.
Early start on Thursday in order to compile a pre sign off snag list at a Conference Centre in Berkshire. Then I get to spend the evening visiting my parents as they live halfway to tomorrows post sign off snag visit. I love the travelling opportunities this role offers.
Friday I am in lovely Liverpool meeting the contractor and branch manager conducting another post sign off snag inspection. It is important to gather feedback from the client at all stages and make time to discuss the outcome with the contractor. The sun shone and I was able to sneak in a well-earned bevy before heading home.
