If things could not get any worse with Land Rovers current Parts delivery service, apparently the JLR rumour mill is saying that one of the floors at their brand new state of the art massive warehouse has just collapsed, if true this is another disaster for the continuing supply.

Well, there was me thinking that Land Rover has finally got to grips with their monumental parts availability problem, then today I was shown a copy of an email stating that it will now take three days to get stock ordered parts, instead of the 24 hours it used to be, instead, if you want parts in 24 hours then you have to VOR them and pay more, it does make you wonder if JLR is now run by ex-heads of the Post Office!

We had a visit last week from Melvyn Strunk and his wife, from Sint Jansklooster, in the Netherlands, they had come in to collect parts for their beautifully restored Marshalls Bodied series 11 Military Ambulance, which they spent 9 years working on.

It is now a first-class camper, The quality of the work in the back is first-class, and the woodwork and lining have had a lot of thought and effort put into it and it shows! well-done guys, very envious, I spent 4 months driving these through the rain forests of Belize back in the 80's when I was serving in the British Army, there is a picture of me sitting on the roof of one back in the day.

Okay, so we now have a new project!

Look what just popped up on Marketplace yesterday, kindly sent to me by my mate Chris, located a mile from Britcar, you would think that having had all the problems with my last Range Rover Vogue I would avoid them like the plague….nope, despite having 6 new engines in five years, it was the best car I have ever driven.

So what is special about this one…to start with, it is a genuine Overfinch Autobiography, in very tidy condition, absolutely fully loaded, powered by the 3.0L diesel, she has rear TV and entertainment unit, heated steering wheel, 5 speed auto, heated rear seats etc, 104k miles and a full service history, she had done 66k of that in the first year of her life, since then averaged 4K a year.

Priced at 5250 pounds it seemed very cheap, but having carried out due diligence, and having a good look over her, I agreed a price of 5k , and she is now sitting on my drive.

So, having now driven it, and tested everything, there are a few minor issues to sort, two Harden Kardon speakers are faulty, now fully obsolete, but I have located 2 on eBay cheap, and finally, the passenger mirror is cracked, being electrochromic it is not cheap at £280 pounds, but I have one in stock, so nothing drastic yet.

So now I have to sell my TD5 Discovery to fund it, if anyone is in the market for one. I will keep you up to date as to how things go with our new addition.
