Just a reminder, if anyone is available to help with a deep clean at the Institute on Friday at 9am, we’d be really grateful. There are lots of jobs to do from furniture shifting to washing up and kitchen cleaning.
In return we promise cups of tea and much gratitude!

The building works at Cononley Institute are finished. We need 6-8 people to help move furniture, hang curtains and do a thorough clean on Friday 30/8/24 about 9am. Please bring a bucket and marigolds if you have them. Please reply to this post if you can help.

It s all action at the Institute as we continue our major project to to make the Institute warm and comfortable and save money. Following on from the solar panels and new double glazing Harrisons have put in a mountain of insulation under the floor sand round the clock tower as well as lowering the ceiling in the back room. The electrician has installed LED lights throughout, and a new floor is being put down in the back room.
So when we reopen on the 1st September the Institute will have made real improvements in saving money and heat. Why not pop in on 14th September for a cup of coffee to see the improvements and find out how you could improve your home.
The project has been supported by a grant from North Yorkshire County Council as part of funds made available from the government.

Come along to the Institute's Annual General Meeting next Monday 1 July at 7.30 pm to find out how we are using £46,000, from Institute funds and a North Yorkshire "levelling up" grant, to make the Institute energy efficient for the 21st century.
The meeting will cover the formal part of the meeting will present the Chair report and the draft accounts for 23-24 followed by a report on the Thermal Camera loan scheme, an update on the on the refurbishment project and a really useful"Cosier Homes" video from Fran Graham.

Spring Bank Holiday Weekend

Come along to Cononley Art Group's Annual Exhibition!
Original paintings and cards from talented local artists on sale, along with light refreshments, a raffle and an activity corner for children.

The solar panels are up and working - the first step on our project to improve the Institutes thermal efficiency.

As a result there are slates left from where the panels have been fitted. They are by the side of the Institute and if anybody can use some or all of them please do take them.

It was great to see people at the Scarecrow Workshop on Saturday. For those who still need construction supplies but weren't able to attend the workshop, you can collect wood and straw from Cononley Hall B&B. We are asking everyone in the village to make a scarecrow to make the festival as successful as previous years.

CHRISTMAS FAIR 2023!
