The boiler will soon be moving on to hydro testing where the boiler will be raised to pressure with water, then visually inspected to check for any leaks, seepage or deformities. Once the test pressure has been held for 30 minutes it is certified and issued a stamped name plate by our notified body, then it's off to fabrication for the next stage of manufacturing.

Offloading and positioning of one of our 12,500 kg/hr Yorkshireman boilers for a large whiskey distillery in Scotland.
This boiler is set to enhance the distillery's production capabilities, ensuring efficient and reliable operation. We look forward to seeing the boiler up and running in the coming weeks.
We want to say a big well done to Alisha, who recently arranged a unique event promoting creativity and exploration of engineering within the local area.
The Engineering and Arts workshop was a fantastic opportunity for young adults and children to get involved with creative engineering activities and learn about the multitude of opportunities available within the sector.
Alisha is passionate about inspiring young minds and this event truly showcased her dedication and hard work. The participants had a blast engaging in hands-on projects, from building simple machines out of old toys to exploring the principles of design and innovation. There were also several experiments that were available to participate in. It's events like these that spark curiosity and foster a love for STEM in our community.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the workshop. Your enthusiasm and participation made it a memorable experience for all. We look forward to seeing more incredible initiatives like this in the future.

A huge thank you to our lagging and cladding operative Ian for these great shots of this pressurised deaerator as it progresses through the department.
Ian explains how this is one of the hardest jobs within the lagging department due to the accuracy and precision required for the overlapping petal design on the end.
Thank you Ian for sharing these pictures and the amazing pride you take in the work you do!
This little M-series boiler looks a little lost next to the huge Yorkshireman boiler we showed you yesterday, but all boilers no matter how big of small are manufactured with the same level of precision and care.
Each boiler undergoes rigorous quality checks and is crafted to meet the highest industry standards. Whether it's a compact model like this M-series or a larger industrial unit, our process ensures reliable performance and longevity.

We are going back just over 20 years for this week's throwback pictures.
This was an exciting project for a 15,000 kg/hr Yorkshireman boiler for a well known confectioners in Ireland.
In the pictures, you can spot our Production Director Rob, in his youth, standing proudly next to the boiler with his dad Peter. It was truly an all-hands-on-deck effort to get this one over the line, but the hard work paid off and the results are testament to the dedication of the team.
We love to look back and reflect on the projects that have helped us progress and grow over the years.

Dave's latest trainees have had the opportunity to see first hand how we use tube expanders for enlarging the ends of firetubes to ensure a tight fit within the tube sheet. This procedure is essential for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our boilers.
By only welding the heat transfer tubes at the hottest end the tubes can expand and contract with the boiler, eliminating tube ends cracks that are common in boilers with tubes fixed at both ends.
It might be the middle of summer but someone has to have the sweltering job of operating our swaging machine.
We use this machine while forming bowling hoops for our boiler furnaces, and during the process the swagging machine heats the furnace sections up to a smouldering 850 degrees!
Hats off to whoever pulled the short straw and is on swaging duty for the next heat wave.
New trainer Craig has been getting involved with the factory tour for our latest cohort of Safe Operation & Management of Industrial Steam Boilers delegates.
Craig joined us as a Technical Trainer back in April and has been thriving in his role and the organisation ever since.
He loves to show his trainees the vast difference in the scale of the boilers we manufacture from a 125 kg/hr Peaksman boiler all the way up to a 19,000 kg/hr Yorkshireman.
If you want to experience one of Craig's 1st class factory tours, book yourself onto one of our inhouse training courses by contacting [email protected]
Yesterday, Alisha, Dave and Sue had the pleasure of attending a careers fair at Skipton Girls High school.
This was a really important one for us as we try to continue our efforts in encouraging young women to consider a career in engineering.
The school had prepared the students well and the younger ones especially had been tasked with asking a series of questions to spark discussion. This was not only a great conversation starter for them but also the questions were designed to help them explore the many opportunities and paths available to today's youth.
We are always honoured to be able to attend these events to speak to our next generation about not only what we do, but also our experiences, challenges and achievements.
From year 7 all the way up to year 11, every pupil in the school passed through the hall yesterday making it the busiest event we've ever done. We ran out of Haribo in the first 30 minutes, Sue's emergency stash of Maoam's didn't last much longer, and Alisha's carefully constructed pen tower had to be topped up every two minutes (although hopefully that means 100's of pupils are doing their school work today showcasing our brand).
It's not all about the big mighty boilers here at Byworth.
We have the ideal steam and hot water solution for a range of different requirements including small to medium applications.
Here is a selection of our smaller boilers moving through fabrication.

Look at the size of this hotwell tank! This impressive tank was recently installed at a major chemical site in Hertfordshire to work alongside their three new 4,500 kg/hr Yorkshireman boilers. This is a bespoke design made to the specific needs of the organisation.
Hotwell tanks are a great option for storing condensate return and boiler feedwater, similar to the deaerator we shared yesterday. Although not as effective in removing dissolved gases compared to deaerators, hotwells are the more popular choice due to their cost and maintenance requirements.
Which option is best? The one that fits with your process, site requirements and needs the most. Our Sales Team can assist you in determining the ideal option for you. Email [email protected]
This pressurised deaerator is coming along nicely in pre hydro.
The primary purpose of a deaerator is to remove dissolved oxygen and other gases (like carbon dioxide) from the feedwater before it enters the boiler. Dissolved oxygen is highly corrosive and can damage boiler tubes, leading to leaks and reduced efficiency.
Similar to a hotwell tank, deaerators store a reservoir of pre-heated feedwater. This heated water improves boiler efficiency by reducing the thermal shock caused by feeding cold water directly.
Deaerators provide more consistent feedwater quality and temperature, leading to more stable and reliable boiler operation. This is particularly important in high-pressure boiler systems where the impact of dissolved gases is more pronounced.

Our Story
Dennis Baldwin became a well-established chrysanthemum and tomato grower. The entrepreneur ran his own successful business from the young age of 17.
Based on 3 sites around Yorkshire, Dennis used steam boilers to heat his 3 acres of glasshouses.
He came from a long line of engineers and with that inherent talent, he decided to design and install his own heating and boiler systems. Soon after, other horticultural businesses were recognising his flair for producing high-quality steam boilers and the demand for his products rose.
