5th / 8th Kendal Scouts have their Summer Fayre today at 1st Kendal Scout Hut. Raising money for the troop to go to Switzerland this summer. They have a raffle with some fantastic prizes, face painting, badge making and lots more going on. Why not pop down and support them.

Today I had a fantastic day with 5th/8th Kendal supporting the 60th Fellsman Race and then taking a few of them underground. We had Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts helping. The young people were a credit to their group and Scouting with their politeness and helpfulness. A fabulous effort!

After nearly 3 years in this role, it's time for me to move on to a new challenge. I'll be taking on the role of County Programme Team Lead in the next few months.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in this role, although at times it's been challenging, and I have learnt a lot.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me from the bottom of my heart.

I had a lovely time at 1st Grange & Cartmel Cubs tonight where we had a visit from some Finnish Scouts, learnt about Scouting in Finland, learnt some words in Finish and made Lusikkaleivät (Finnish spoon biscuits).

I was privileged to join 10th Kendal Cubs and Beavers tonight learning about Leap Day and presenting some Chief Scout’s Bronze Awards.

I’ve just spent a very informative day with the rest of the Cumbria County Team. Lots of interesting updates about Transformation, Training and some very important networking.

This morning 1st Staveley Cubs and Beavers have been making lightsabers and X Wing Pilot helmets on their Star Wars Christmas Sleepover!

Tonight I am joining 1st Staveley Beavers and Cubs at their Star Wars themed Christmas Sleepover! We’ve been designing Droids, practicing our blaster skills and making Ewoks!

I had the honour of visiting 1st Holme Cubs at their community project at Westmorland General Hospital today. They have been doing some incredibly hard work transforming the garden into a beautiful, tranquil place for staff, visitors and patients. They were also presented with a Certificate Of Appreciation from the Kendal Lions. Fantastic work!

The teams have had their briefing and Lewis Baron 2023 is well underway.

Eyes down, it’s bingo time! Joining 5th/8th Kendal Scouts for their bingo night raising money for their trip to Switzerland next summer.

I joined 1st Kirkby Lonsdale for (some of!) their AGM tonight. What a lovely venue for an AGM. A huge well done to all the volunteers there for running such a successful group.

Had a lovely evening at Cumbria County AGM this evening. We found out all about the adventures of our contingent to the World Scout Jamboree, caught up with lots of friends and saw two of our own being presented with their King’s Scout Awards.

I’m heading down to Gilwell Reunion this weekend. If you’re there, pop by the Lid and say hi. I’ll be at the Waddecar stand on Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the District Team and I spent the day at Grasmere Sports today promoting Scouting in the area.

I met up with The Great Woggle JOGLE team at Waddecar Scout Activity Centre tonight at the half way point in their journey. These guys are such an inspiration. Well done team and good luck on the rest of your journey!

I've just been on an interesting Teams Chat with the other Lead Volunteers from around the County, Eddie Ward and Neil Northman, discussing the latest updates on our transformation journey.

I joined the Haarlem Jamborette contingent this evening for their final information evening before they travel on Friday. Everyone is very excited for an amazing trip. They’re going to have such a good time and make some incredible memories. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous!

Went out for a bike ride this morning in our neckers.

Had a productive meeting tonight with Cub Leaders from around the District, finalising details for District Cub Camp at Waddecar. Only 2 weeks to go!

More climbing! This time with Staveley Beavers at Great Tower.

What a fantastic evening at Hutton Roof Crags with 1st Grange and Cartmel Scouts, assessing more leaders for their climbing permits!

Some other leaders and myself have just spent a lovely day at the Lakes Classic Car Show in Staveley.

What a fantastic setting for a meeting! I joined 1st Kirkby Lonsdale Trustees this evening to discuss transformation and the future of the group amongst other things.

I spent a great evening climbing with 5th/8th Kendal Cubs tonight. We were honoured to be joined by Neil Gresham.

Tonight we celebrated all things red and fluffy with 1st Grange & Cartmel’s first Squirrel meeting! A huge well done to the leadership team!
