SKABOUR FRINGE commences tonight in The Town at Chambers (basement), Cheriton Place, Folkestone CT20 2BB... deffo alternative for you guys into reggae, roots, rockers, dub, rubadub and dancehall with ADAM PRESCOTT, OXMAN and DONOVAN KINGJAY on the decks.

Lister (Craig Charles) was one of my favourite characters on the box as a child so naturally i jumped at the chance when he invited me to talk about Skabour 2023 and this years 1st Skabour fringe on his radio show, whilst also selecting some nice Ska for the show. Happy 86th Birthday to Chris Blackwell owner of Island Records.
Forming Island Records in Jamaica on 22 May 1959, aged 22, Blackwell was among the first to record the Jamaican popular music that eventually became known as ska. Returning to Britain in 1962, he sold records from the back of his car to the Jamaican community.
