Bacardi Gran Reserva Limitada which is rich, oaky and smooth as silk. This one’s a bit special…….

New Rum in the DogHouse.
This is a single barrel Jamaican rum, distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2010. Only 255 bottles made.
It’s for display purposes only…….

Not often I buy anything other than Rum these days. But as I love Banana (stop it!) and I’d seen this a few times in shops, thought I’d treat myself to a Bourbon for a change.
It’s a bananary beauty!! ❤️

New rums this week in the DogHouse! Had a great visit to the Rusty Krab Rum Shop and Bar in Kings Lynn. Excellent place!
I was like a kid in a sweet shop and after too many samples to count we got slightly carried away!
So here’s rum number 146, 147, 148, 149, 150 and 151! We were able to try before we buy so all of these are crackers!

Quiet night in……..

Picked up some new bits for the bar today.
New tray, Red Stripe pic, new bar runner and a lime squeezer 👍🍻

That’s it! I finally have to admit I’m a Rumaholic! So much so that I’ve had to take drastic action.
I’ve built another shelf. Not just any shelf but a super long display shelf that runs along the “public” side of the bar.
A great idea from the bar owning legend Jacob Goss
On this shelf will be an amazing selection of premium rums each with their own label detailing origin, colour, tasting notes etc.
It’s certainly given loads of space behind the bar! I e even given Kaz some Gin space for here growing collection.
I love it!

Bit of a change round this morning. Couple more shelf extensions. Moved some lights and signs to accommodate. Managed to move 11 rums off the back bar 👍

Ron Santiago De Cuba Carta Blanca!
Unfortunately the label was removed by the person who bought it into the country as it actually came across from Cuba. But it is still sealed and a very welcome addition to the bar!

I had the pleasure of visiting the vibrant, historic city of Santiago de Cuba during one of our visits to the island. This place used to be the Capitol before Havana took its title. It was a stunning couple of days and I only wish I could go back there as I would certainly enjoy the rum more now than I did then.
If anyone has the P.C knowledge to download a label and send me an actual bottle size printable file I’d much appreciate it 👍🙏

Well finally I’ve made it to 100 plus rums in the collection! Did a bit of shopping this week in Yorkshire. So the addition of Sailor Jerry (amazed I’ve not had it in there before)
