Join me for a 7 week project that explores self care through zine and book making. Maintaining positive mental health can be difficult to do especially alone, so the aim of this project is to recognise the simple things that help make us happier and actively do these things.
We will be filling these books/zines with the things that make us happy, no matter how silly or mundane, just like I did with my zine with the same name of this project. The sessions will cover things such as badge making, collaging, sticker making and bookbinding techniques (including Japanese bookbinding).
Starting from 15/4/24 we will meet every Monday for 7 weeks at Kino Lounge to talk about/make our books and zines. There will be 2 groups running, a midday group at 11am-1pm and an evening group at 6-8pm. Limited to 5 people per group.
Free to attend and all materials provided, just send me a message or an email to [email protected] to book your slot onto a group.
Finished books and zines made through this project can be exhibited at this years University of Northamptonās Fine Art degree show as part of a community arts project.
āØSuper exciting news!! Weāre gonna be at FOLD, Derby Zine Fest on Saturday April 13thāØ
Find us in the Deda Theatre 12-5pm with over 35 other zine and comic makers. Thereās various workshops happening throughout the day and the Derbyshire Zine Library will have a pop up reading room in the Deda Cafe which I know Iād love to visit.
If you come along to any of our ziNNes club sessions between now and then Iāll gladly take your zines along to show/sell, just send me a message or ask in person for more details.
Hope to see you there! ššš»

Thrilled that the founder of .nn.es will be joining us at the outside(R) zine fest and hosting a āSustainable zines/Trash zinesā workshop where all the materials will be things that have already been used (fabric off cuts/scraps, magazines and newspapers, plastic bags, food packaging etc). General paper making isnāt the most environmentally friendly process so this workshop will shine a light on ways to still create zines without adding to the problem. Lauren will be bringing a badge maker so people can turn things like food wrappers into badges. The outside(R) team would love it if everyone that came to the Zine fest gifted a wrapper, carton, other recyclables to this workshop. Places on the workshop will be limited. But we guarantee it will be great .nn.es is an incredible zine making community.
Thereās just over 24hrs now until the zine fest in Coventry!! Weāre super excited to have both a table and a workshop at the event which is free to attend. Our workshop is focused around making sustainable/trash zines using materials that have already had a life of their own (magazines, food wrappers, plastic bags, fabric scraps etc) to cut down on waste. Weād be very grateful if anyone could donated any materials to this workshop, weāve got a good range of things already but the more the better. Thereāll also be a badge maker on hand to create food packaging badges to match your zines! At our table weāll have a selection of zines, stickers and badges made by various ziNNes club members available to buy/zine trade for.
We hope to see/meet as many of you as we can tomorrow š
Itās another week of āNo Theme, Just Make A Zineā at ziNNes club!
Join us in Kettering or Northampton for 2 hours of unfiltered zine making/crafting!! We can teach you anything you need to know to make your zines (including some bookbinding!) and materials are provided for you. We even have a badge maker on hand āØ
