🐶 Our DDI Yard Improvment Journey! 🐶

Our journey started on July 8th when Mick & Jay from MP Services ripped up the revolting astroturf that was laid back in 2014!! 🤢 (The first 3 photos show just how tired and grim the space had become.)
Unfortunately, they did not find the compacted hard core we were all expecting, but concrete! 😳 We think they were the bases of the buildings that were here when Hill Farm was an Italian Prisoner of war camp in WW2... 😮
So, suddenly the job was much bigger, and all we could do was fence it off and 'make do' until it was done!! We also took advantage of the time by making a few design changes, to help with the drainage - something we couldn't have done if the job had gone as planned. We had also realised we did not have enough spare astro turf (we'd originally naively thought we might be able to save the old stuff! 🙄😂), so the hunt on fb marketplace began!
Unfortunately, Mick & Jay had other job commitments, so we had to sit tight for a few weeks, but they returned last week and yesterday you saw the fantastic results of all their hard work!! 😁
So, firstly, a HUGE thank you to Mick & Jay... and an apology for the job not being what was advertised!! 😬 We are thrilled to bits with the results, and, as you witnessed yesterday, the dogs absolutely LOVE it! 😍 Thank you for humouring us with all our design changes - not everyone would have been so accomodating. (Mick's van is in some of the photos if anyone needs his number! 😉).
Another HUGE thank you to Dan at Unit Fitness for firstly selling us the astroturf, and then storing it when we couldn't, for one reason or another, collect it all at once. It is very much appreciated. 😊

It's been hard at times with the reduced space, and some dogs didn't like it at all, but it has DEFINITELY been worth the wait!
