Janet and John Loveday tied the knot on June 13, 1964, at All Saints Church in Kettering and held their wedding reception at Barton Hall’s Orangery.

The happy couple recreated their moment with us this weekend & were joined by son David and daughter Kate and grandchildren Freya and Winter, as well as original guests from their wedding, friends & family.

We would like to wish Janet and John a very happy diamond anniversary, celebrating 60 years of marriage. Congratulations! 🥂💐💎

Excited onlookers shared pictures of the lights last night, also known as aurora borealis.

The aurora are caused by the solar wind in space; charged particles from the sun being accelerated down the field lines of the Earth’s magnetic field. They occur in Earth’s ionosphere hundreds of miles up.

We had the absolute pleasure at the weekend to host John’s surprise 80th birthday! Friends and family gathered from far and wide to celebrate this really special birthday.

With a drinks reception & canapés and hot & cold buffet lunch in our Charles Suite, followed by speeches & a poem by the grandchildren to celebrate 80 incredible years, with cake and a cheese platter… and later in the evening, a family 3-course meal in our Garden Room from our banqueting menu.
