Due to increasing workload we have an opportunity for an apprentice design engineer to join our small but long established company. Many of our staff are long serving and this is a career opportunity with good prospects for the right applicant.

🔹What will the apprentice be doing?
You will join a small team in our office preparing heating, hot & cold water and ventilation designs for mainly domestic dwellings for developers, contractors and manufacturers using bespoke computer design software. Occasional site visits to inspect properties.
🔹What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be working in our office for 4 days a week and attending college for 1 day per week once Training Providers or colleges are able to recommence the specific Building Services Engineering (M&E) course. Initial qualification will be Level 3 in Building Services Engineering with possibility to progress on to Levels 4 and 5 for the right person. Training location not known at this time
🔹What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified you will be able to join the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) at entry level. The right person will be able to continually broaden and increase their knowledge and be given their own clients to manage and build relationships with.
The UK is working towards the Future Homes Standard which starts in 2025 with new technologies to heat our houses, provide hot water and ventilate them with the aim to become nett carbon zero by 2050 so plenty of opportunities.
