Our principal dentist Janet is coming back from maternity leave in June and looking forward to seeing you all again but very importantly helping to get through the large back log of patients that require a check up.

The reason for such a back log is explained below:
To give you an example, pre covid, our practice could see up to 70 patients per day.
We were closed for three months right at the very beginning of the pandemic.
Then we could see emergencies only for quite some time.
Since being able to use the drill, for quite a few months we had to wait an hour before we could go in and clean the room. We also had to work in bubbles. At this time we were only able to see around 10 patients per day due to this.
We invested in air ventilation systems that allowed that hour to be reduced to 15 minutes which meant we have been able to see considerably more patients. That was only maybe up to 25 patients per day though due to time in between patients, staff bubbles and social distancing required.
Recently, we invested in special drills that don't produce an aerosol so we don't need to leave the surgery between patients (before cleaning).
In the last few weeks, we no longer have to wear special masks and gowns when using the drill either.
So as you can see, our 70 patients a day has been massively reduced to nothing then very gradually back up to a new normal.
We can assure you we have been working our socks off to see the patients that have urgently needed us and contacting patients for check up appointments. Please understand that this will take some time.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding throughout.
😊😊😊

☆☆UPDATE ON CHECK UPS/REGISTERING NEW PATIENTS☆☆

We are currently contacting patients who were due a check up before/when the pandemic hit.
We have not forgotten about all of you. Unfortunately it will take us some time to get through all of our patients and recall them as we are experiencing an unprecedented demand on our services at present.
We understand that, if we have not seen you yet since restrictions have lifted, you are overdue a check up and we would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding at this time.
We have many calls daily of patients wishing to register with us. Unfortunately we are unable to accept any new patients at present but have a waiting list if you wish to add your name to this.
In the meantime if you are registered with us and have a dental emergency please contact us on 01294 552598. If you are not registered with a dentist, please call 111.
Stay safe everyone.

What a great team. Well done everyone!!

Thank you to all of those who nominated us.

It has been nice to see some patients again in the recent couple of months.

As it stands, we are still only able to provide NHS treatment on an emergency basis.

Routine fillings, dentures, check ups and crown and bridge work are still not allowed on the NHS due to government restrictions placed upon us.

For some patients who do not wish to wait until we progress into phase 4, we are able to offer most treatments outwith the NHS. This means that there is a charge to all patients. If you feel that you would like this, please call us and we can chat you through the options.

Thank you to everyone for being so understanding in these difficult times. It is very frustrating for us that at present, we are not able to offer all that we would like to on the NHS.

NHS treatment availabilities will likely change again when the government allows us in phase 4 so please keep checking this page and our website.

On the plus side, we have a few bits of good news...I will add these shortly.

Stay safe all.

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is doing OK and enjoying the slight bit more freedom recently.

As of this week, we are now able to see patients for basic dental treatment. This includes dental emergencies, a basic examination for those in urgent need, denture visits including making new dentures, denture repairs and adjustments, temporary fillings and recementing some crowns and bridges that do not require the use of air and water.

We are still not able to use the air and water to dry and effectively examine teeth so I would stress that dental check ups are still not able to be done fully. As before, the dental drills and scalers are not able to be used either.

I have attached the recent letter from the Director of Dentistry in Ayrshire and Arran that confirms this.

If you feel you require a dental visit, please call us and we will triage you and arrange an appointment if appropriate. Please do not come to the practice if you do not have an appointment.

We are working in teams at the moment so it may not be your own dentist that you see

Here is a reminder of a few changes that are in place at the moment:

1. All appointments will be given out over the phone with patients being asked to attended by themselves only at their appointment time where possible. Only patients with an appointment can come in to the practice as the door will remain locked.
2. You will be asked to clean your hands with alcohol gel on entry and exit from the practice.
3. We will all need to social distance so you will notice the waiting room chairs are far apart and things like a screen up at reception now.
4. Our staff's friendly smiles may be slightly disguised by these masks and visors we have to wear but we will still be chatting away as usual!
5. Patient toilets are to remain closed and as many doors as possible are to be kept open- this is to make it a "hands free" journey whilst you are in the practice.

We look forward to seeing you again and will keep you updated with the latest on Facebook and our website.

Stay safe and take care of yourselves.

Kindest Regards,

Janet Jardine

Hello all.

Once again, I hope everyone is keeping well and still managing to keep their chins up just now...we are getting there!

We are opening FOR DENTAL EMERGENCIES ONLY from Monday 22nd June.

This includes: severe dental pain, swelling or trauma. We can only do treatments that avoid using dental machinery and need to refer you to an urgent dental care centre if more complex dental treatment is required.

I am afraid to say that we are not allowed to treat any other dental issues at the moment.

I have attached the recent letter from the Director of Dentistry in Ayrshire and Arran that confirms this.

If you have a dental emergency, please call us and we will triage you.

Here is a reminder of a few changes that are in place at the moment:

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

We are missing seeing you all and being able to help you in the way we were so used to doing before the epidemic began.

Please remember just now we are unable to see you at the practice but are able to speak to you over the phone if you need the assistance of a dentist.

The safety of our patients and staff is a high priority for us and we have been working hard behind the scenes to get things ready for our reopening.

We are waiting to hear from the government when we will be able to open up again. This will be for dental emergencies only at the beginning. At this stage, there will be big changes to how we operate and to your visit. These changes include:
1. All appointments will be given out over the phone with patients being asked to attended by themselves where possible. Only patients with an appointment can come in to the practice.
2. You will be asked to clean your hands with alcohol gel on entry and exit from the practice.
3. We will all need to social distance so you will notice the waiting room chairs are far apart and things like a screen up at reception now.
4. Our staff's friendly smiles may be slightly disguised by the masks we will be asked to wear. Please don't be put off by this. We still want to chat!
5. We are only going to be able to do really basic dentistry for dental emergencies at the beginning and even then, we are not allowed to use our drills or equipment that produces aerosols so we apologise that our services are not the way they used to be for the time being.

I have also added a letter from the Director of Dentistry in Ayrshire and Arran as a summary of what has been happening and will continue to happen in the coming months.

We look forward to seeing you again and will keep you updated with the latest on Facebook and our website.

Stay safe and keep smiling!!

Kindest Regards,

⭐⭐Thank you to all of you great patients for supporting us and understanding the situation with things at the moment.⭐⭐

We are able to see anyone who is suffering from toothache or has a dental emergency.
We are open 9-5. (1-2pm lunch)
We are working in teams so there will only ever be one dentist and team working at one time.

PLEASE PHONE THE SURGERY RATHER THAN COME IN IF YOU REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT AND WE WILL TRIAGE YOU.

We will be contacting most other patients who had appointments for routine dental treatment and cancel their appointments for the time being until we are through the worst of COVID-19.

Any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone, fb messenger or email us: [email protected]

Please stay safe everyone. Avoid any unnecessary social contact and look after one another.

We look forward to seeing you all when things blow over.

Take care

‼‼‼Coronovirus update‼‼‼

Good morning all!

In these difficult times with the COVID-19 virus there are some precautions we could like to put in place to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible.

🦷 If you have a fever or a continuous cough, please do not attend for your appointment and self isolate for 7 days. Please phone us and we will reschedule you.

🦷 If you have a dental emergency and are experiencing symptoms of coronovirus, please DO NOT attend the practice. We will give you advice over the phone.

🦷 If you have underlying health issues that make you more at risk from coronovirus, we suggest that you consider cancelling your appointment. If it is urgent, phone us and we can arrange a good time for you when perhaps there are less patients at the practice.

🦷 Our staff will ask you to alcohol gel or wash your hands before you go to the reception desk.

🦷 We have removed all magazines and toys from the waiting room.

🦷 It may seem a bit strange to see more staff with masks and gloves on but this is best practice for us at the moment.

🦷 Please pay by card as much as possible to minimise cash exchange

🦷 We will try to keep patients in the waiting room more separated than normal. Please only arrive at the time of your appointment.

🦷 If you are able, please do not bring others with you to your appointment to minimise social contact.

🦷 If you are anxious about attending for an appointment and wish to cancel, phone us and try to give us as much notice as possible please so we can offer appointments to those who need us.

But the main thing is everyone...stay safe! Look after one another. Especially those who can't manage out to the shops etc.

You are all a great bunch of patients and we hope that we can all get though these uncertain times safely.

Thank you for your support 💗💗💗

Please share if you can.

Many thanks.
