Kingsbridge Nature Festival starts today!

The Kingsbridge Nature Festival is a three-day community celebration of our local environment and is running from Thursday 20th June to Saturday 22nd June.

Only 3 days to go until the start of the Kingsbridge Nature Festival!

This year we have adopted the Long-Horned Bee for the festival to help fill Kingsbridge with Nature!

Even though it is one of the UK’s rarest bees, there is a strong colony close to Kingsbridge, near Start Point.
Long-horned bees get their name from the males’ unmistakable and unusually long antennae. Sadly, this species has declined significantly across Britain and as a result is considered a UK priority species.

Here’s a photo of our press release a couple of months after opening in December 2003. I was away placing orders so my legend of a sister stepped in for the day! (thanks Kimi 😘).

We were Starskis Hutch for a year before moving to our current shop where we changed our name to Habit. Some of you still call it Starskis which warms our hearts! We never dreamed we would be around for this long, I’m much greyer and not much wiser but the support you have given me and my family has been amazing and we will be eternally greatful.

Naturally there will be a time for us to move on soon but we will ensure it stays in safe hands and remains an important part of our great high street! Until then we look forward to seeing all you beautiful lot during 2024!
