Our haberdashery can supply with all you need for your craft projects, be it sewing, knitting, embroidery and more.

We have zips, threads, cotton fabrics, dress making patterns, ribbons, bias binding, piping cord, Tapisserie wool, elastics and all sorts of knitting and machine needles to name a few!

The shop will be open on Monday 19th - Friday 23rd December, 10am-5pm with Rachael, Claire and Jim here to help.

After many years of making high quality soft furnishings and retailing, Ajanta Studios is closing.
To enable closure we need to clear our stock and equipment .as soon as possible.

Industrial Brother machine.
Straight stitch, and reverse with knee pedal for lifting foot.
Can go through fairly thick layers of fabric, including interlined French pleated headings.
Regularly serviced.

Industrial Singer machine. with walking foot, enabling stitching through thicker layers while keeping good tension.
Takes thicker thread; straight stitch; reverse lever
Regularly serviced.

Industrial overlocker.
4 thread overlocker - stitches a seam and trims and overlocks the edges- has been used regularly with 3 threads just to trim and overlock the edges.

Several bespoke melamine tables/counters to fit alongside, and behind machines.

Work table. Approx size 150cms x 240cms.
Melamine top, edged in wood.
Timber base with shelving for fabric rolls.
Top can slide on the base, so that it can be moved nearer or away from the wall.
Dismantles for transportation.

Linings: Fire retardant, Cotton sateens, Blackouts.
Heading tapes; Heading buckram; velcros; hooks; iron; essex board.

For those of you who love beautiful fabrics we are letting you know that Jane will be on site from Wednesday afternoon until Friday this week and will be organising lots of beautiful ex display lengths and end of rolls for sale.
Everyone is very welcome to come in and select some lovely materials for your upcoming projects or just to enjoy in your 'fabric stash'!
There will be some embroideries, prints, hangers, lengths and samples. Bring a bag!

After a long period of logistical difficulties we have had to decide to close our business at Britton House in Kingsbridge.
We will, over the coming weeks, be open and available for sales, and available to help with your enquiries, but it is our full intention to close the facility at Britton House, no later than the end of November.

We hope you are all enjoying and benefitting from this lovely Summer weather.

We have had a busy time recently with providing the Interior Furnishings for an impressive property in Dartmouth. All completed now and looking pretty good if we say so ourselves!

As well as making up Curtains and Blinds for individual clients, we do like to help those of you who wish to make your own.
As many of you know, we can supply fabrics in a range of prices, from companies we have selected for their designs, quality and fair pricing.

We have many years of workroom experience in Soft Furnishings, so any advice you require with your project please do get in touch. We are very happy to help as much as possible. It is a good feeling to complete, and enjoy your own makes.

We always have in stock various linings, interlinings, heading tapes, buckram, hooks, velcro et al!
Hopefully all the workroom sundries you could need.

We also supply Poles, Tracks, and Blind systems. Again, please do ask if you need advice, particularly if you have a tricky fitting problem, and feel a bit stuck.
