Live-In’s Moments of Kindness winner is Asha!
Asha is a Live-in Relationship Manager and has recently won a Moments of Kindness award after receiving a touching nomination from Area Care Manager Maria.
Asha, for me, represents what it means to go above and beyond. She is the reassuring voice to her carers, always placing her clients as her top priority, and she consistently approaches every situation with a can-do attitude that I cannot fault. I had the privilege of accompanying her on a few visits, where I got to see first-hand how her work can be challenging yet rewarding.
We genuinely promote the value of being able to stay at home to receive care and Asha embodies this mission with grace and dedication. Being out both in the community and in our clients' home, where she shares biscuits and heartfelt conversations, shows me the profound impact we make. It's in these moments that the true essence of our work shines through. Asha's interactions are not just professional obligations; they are genuine connections that bring comfort and joy to those she serves. Whether it's a reassuring word, a warm smile, or a shared laugh over tea, Asha's presence brings a sense of security and happiness to her clients.
Her ability to turn everyday visits into meaningful experiences underscores the importance of our work and reminds us all of the incredible difference we can make in the lives of others. Asha's unwavering commitment and her genuine care set a high standard for us all, illustrating beautifully what it means to go above and beyond in the realm of caregiving.
Thank you for your dedication, Asha!

Recently, Maureen asked Helping Hands if we could help make a special day out at the beach happen, inspired by a suggestion from her lovely neighbours. She chose her carer, Sara, to join her, and together they traveled for a memorable day by the sea. It had been years since Maureen had been to the beach, so this trip was extra special!
They packed a delicious picnic and set it up on the beachfront, enjoying tasty treats while keeping a watchful eye on the seagulls! After their meal, they wandered around the local shops where Maureen found a beautiful scarf and top to bring home. She was deeply grateful to Sara and her neighbours for giving her the opportunity to get out, feel the sea breeze, and enjoy a wonderful day out.
Now mostly housebound, Maureen cherishes these outings with her carers. She loves exploring the local community and has enjoyed everything from trips to the theatre and the pub to some Christmas shopping and even a visit to the safari park!
It's moments like these that remind us how important it is to support our customers in enjoying life's little adventures. 💜

Celebrations all-round 🎉
Helping Hands support married couple, Geoffrey and Marjorie 3 times a week. The team help Geoffrey with washing and dressing and a separate visit is made to the household for ironing, shopping, and some light household chores.
The couple recently embarked on an outing to the local garden centre and indulged in their favourite black cherry cheesecake with a cup of tea.
Recently, there has been much to celebrate, as Geoffrey celebrated his 95th birthday and the couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary!
The couple were married on 1st June 1957 in All Hallows Church, Allerton, Liverpool.
Marjorie’s favourite memory from the day was that it was beautiful and sunny and that her twin sisters Valerie and Pat were her bridesmaids. Marjorie made their bridesmaid dresses herself which she was incredibly proud of.
Geoffrey’s favourite memory was flying to Jersey for their honeymoon after their wedding breakfast. He hadn’t flown that much prior to this and so this was a great post wedding treat.
To celebrate these milestones, the couple went for a family meal to their favourite restaurant. Their son David, and grandson Sam joined them along with their daughter Susan who had travelled from Yorkshire.
Their secret to a long and happy marriage is that they both love each other deeply and have always been firm friends. When asked, they said they were not the argumentative type of people, which helped to maintain a happy relationship. Marjorie said that Geoffrey was great for putting up with her 100+ teddy bear collection!
We love to hear from our customers, thank you both for sharing!
A carer is a wonderful source of companionship and emotional support. Depending on your care needs, a carer can be arranged to pop in as needed or you can benefit from a dedicated carer who lives with you in your home, offering a helping hand at a moment’s notice.
Whether you need companionship or clinical care in the comfort and safety of your own home, Helping Hands will create a care plan to suit your needs. As a regulated care provider, creating the care plan is more than just listing the things to do. We must make sure that we consider people's capacity and ability to consent and do everything reasonably practicable to make sure that people who use the service receive person-centred care and treatment that is appropriate, meets their needs and reflects their personal preferences, whatever they might be.
