This weekend sees the lads back in action as we take on Matt’s Legends FC in the Hull Charity League
📍Sir Henry Cooper
⏱️ 12:00pm
With Step 1 complete, we left ourselves top of the table with the only fixture remaining being Brownies Vs Uni Staff.
A draw or Uni win would see us finish 1st.
At the end of an eventful game the uni staff equalised to make the game 3-3 with around 10 minutes to go. It took just minutes for Brownies to restore their lead which they held until the final whistle. Brownies 4-3 Uni Staff.
Not to be on this occasion and we finish second in the league table.
It was all out attack for us knowing we would need to win by 6 or more.
As the scoreline shows it was a pretty one sided game. Lads FC went in at HT 7-0 and sat at the top of the table.
Just before half time and the first 10-15 minutes of the second half saw a fightback from North Hull. They created a number of opportunities that Ash Harris, who had a great game was able to keep out. Finally a long range effort was tipped onto the crossbar before the rebound headed in from close range. 7-1
Lads rallied after that and after the 8th went in it was back to one way traffic. Unbelievable performance all round. Ellis Yeaman was unplayable scoring 7 great goals. The pick of the bunch was Jamie Hunts 3rd to seal his hat trick. David West rounded off the scoring tapping the ball into an open net.
Our final East Riding Casual league fixture was played yesterday.
We needed a victory by 6 or more goals to give us a chance at reaching the grand final. Although that would leave us with an anxious wait for the 5pm fixture
Score to follow
Unfortunately due to the weather conditions we have had to cancel this weekends game vs the NHS staff.
We will return to action next week in the East Ridifing FA Casual league's final round of fixtures
As part of our involvement within the Hull Charity League all 7 teams will be raising for multiple charities. However...

The game between ourselves and finished 4-3.
Between the two clubs we were able to donate £336 to
An eventful first game back. Both sides started well having a couple of half chances in the opening 10 minutes.
An early defensive error was pounced upon by the Legends forward who sprinted through 1 on 1 and converted. The lead was doubled quickly as Lads were troubled by the long ball.
Lads FC managed to pull one back on around the 25 minute mark as debutant Ashley Birdsall cut inside before arrowing his strike into the bottom corner from outside the box.
Lads FC again the masters of their own downfall as a second defensive error put them 3-1 down almost straight from the kick off. Again quickly followed by another Legends goal as the wide man broke the offside trap only to square the ball to an unmarked striker for an easy finish. Lads felt hard done by at HT although the legends were good value for their lead.
The second half was a different story. Lads controlled possession for long parts of the game creating several half chances. Matt's legends hit on the break a couple of times but couldn't quite finish the game off completely after a couple of good saves by stand in keeper Cam Williams.
Finally a deserved goal came through Dave West as he broke the back line and managed to put the ball over the keeper. Within 5 minutes the lead was halved to just 1. The ball pinballed in the box before finally finding the feet of Dave West again who was able to find some space and apply a finish.
4-3 and game on with around 10 to play. Matt's legends withstood the pressure late on to take the win on the day. A good game where both teams will have felt they could have won it on other day.
The gaffers player of the match was Casey Jubb on her first game back. A calm and collected performance in the centre of the park
Today's team that took on for the first game of the year.
Our usual result and match report will be posted tomorrow.

Raising money for
Less than 2 and a half years old and we have reached £15,000 donated to various causes.
With the biggest chunk of our money going to mental health causes we have also helped support a number of national charities and smaller local charities. The club was set up to give people a place to come together, and it has definately done that. We have had over 100 different people play in the blue and white, and many more that have come to non matchday sessions.
Together we have been able to give back by raising all this money along with the support of many local businesses and of course many oppositions who worked with us to make this total.
Here's to the next £15,000 👌🏻
January holds 3 matches for us.
Starting off with a friendly against where together we will raise money for
Second up we welcome the NHS staff to Pride Park
Finally, our final regular season fixture against North Hull where we require a victory by 6 or more goals to guarantee a minimum 2nd place finish. If we can achieve the 6 goal win all eyes will be on the 5pm kick off between Brownies and Hull Uni staff. A draw or small Uni win would see us win the league.
Stranger things have happened.
Our final update from the Christmas period.
We recieved a visit from .mind at our Christmas party. Since we started we have donated almost £5000 to HEY Mind. With over £10,000 going to a range of mental health causes.
It was great to hear how our donations make a difference to the local community. 🙌🏻
Keep your eyes peeled at 6pm tomorrow for a huge announcement 📢
One of our players Reagan Enderby had prompted us to find a number of people who are in need over Christmas. One of our chairman, David West identified The Hub School in Anlaby thanks to this post by
The club donated £220 to buy a lynx set and a selection box to ALL children. The picture shows just part of the donation with us also catering for both, the boys and girls who attend the school
Still catching up with our busy winter break donations
Martyn Bradley was the winner of 1 of our 3 pots available in the World Cup sweepstake. Upon receipt he donated these funds to before Christmas 👏🏻
After an extended winter break we are back for 2023. To start it off we have 2 donations to announce. £150 goes to donated by ourselves and the staff team at Reckitts.
Our second donation comes on behalf of Matty West who won the jackpot in our deal or no deal game which was '£200 donation to charity of choice'. Instead of a charity he chose to support the funeral costs of a local resident who sadly took his own life.
We are saddened to learn of the passing especially with mental health so close to our hearts at Lads FC
We would like to remind you all it's always
We've supported Hull and East Yorkshire Mind with their upcoming event this sunday.
Still time to get involved by joining the fun run or donating prizes for the Raffle on the day.
Glad we could help 🎅
And on the topic of Mental Elf, huge thank you to our partners kindly sponsoring the event🥳

Lads FC VS Stagecoach
Match Report:
When the game finally got underway Lads took the game to stagecoach as they quickly dominated. Stagecoach couldn’t get underway and was switched off for large parts of the start of the game (Properly stiff legs from striking ;) ). Quick thinking corner to the front post from Matt saw Rich knock the ball past the keeper and into the bottom corner of the goal which stagecoach couldn’t clear. Shortly after a quick throwing from Matt saw Ash through on goal but couldn’t convert, although another quick throwing from Matt saw Ben go through on goal to slot the ball past the keeper.
Half Time 2-0
Second half the game Carl had enough of losing and walked off the Priory Park field dreaming of being in the winners circle. All jokes aside the second half was sluggish nothing materialising from either team. After a few changes Reagan selfishly bent the ball over the keeper to the far past with a questionable 3 foot offside. By this time and 10 minutes left of the game a future Lads FC youngster took the field to play alongside his dad. Stagecoach made the came towards the end close as they scored 2 quick goals but couldn’t complete the comeback.
