Today marks the first victory for our County League side, our aim was to focus on style of play and playing football how we want to as a group.

With quite a few new faces playing it took us some time to get a rhythm going but for majority of the game we controlled the ball well and didn’t give ourselves too much to do at the back.

At 3-0 up we took our foot off the gas and for a 5 minute period this caused us to concede 2 sloppy goals. We soon switched it back on though and ended the game with another goal of our own to seal the deal. Thanks to Lads FC for the game and all the best for this season 🤝🏼.

CLUB NEWS 🟢

Greenwood are expanding into the County League starting this upcoming season.

After a brilliant first year in the Sunday league we are set to take on a new challenge with hopes of carrying on the success,

The Sunday League side will still be going strong however with a nearly entirely new group for the Saturday league we are ready to give it our all and will embrace the ups and downs along the way 💚

Just want to say it’s been a crazy year from top to bottom, a lot of man hours has gone into this club and when we say it started from nothing it really did. No sponsors to help us out we have accomplished everything completely self funded.

The highs, the lows and all the drama inbetween has made this year one to remember and many lessons have been learned along with unforgettable memories that will be there forever.

Every player that’s put on the Black and Green for us this season we are grateful to have had you represent our club, if we said in pre season that we’re doing the double and reaching the final for the treble everyone would’ve laughed… yet here we are capping off an incredible season ⚽️

Also a massive Thankyou to everyone who’s supported us this year 👏🏼 whether it’s coming down to games, liking & sharing posts or even commenting on YouTube videos we’ve noticed it all and appreciate it.

Well that’s it then Greenwood have capped off the year as League Champions making us double winners in our debut season 🏆🏆

The Cup Final is tomorrow to claim the treble in our first season together 🟢⚫️

We would appreciate anyone coming down to support the lads and spur us on 🏆

Poor game of football from us today, we was a shell of ourselves from start to finish.

Credit to Longhill for being the first team to beat us in a competitive game this season 🤝🏼

We look to the final this Sunday to claim back some dignity and put things right 🟢⚫️

Jack Gregory was yesterdays MOTM 🏆

We heard whispers of how good he is outfield so we put him to the test… safe to say he didn’t disappoint getting himself a great goal and dishing out 5 assists ⚽️

Yesterdays result put us back in the top spot 🥇

This Wednesday we take on Hull Athletic to try and claim another 3 points 🟢⚫️

After a slow start and heading into the half 1-0 down, the lads brushed off the cobwebs from not playing together for a few weeks and soon got into the rhythm of things ⚽️

No football action for Greenwood as it looks like another week were our league opponents miraculously can’t field a squad.

Our last league game was played 2 months ago… such is life
