Saturdays are usually a little more chilled just water check the place and go but no not today on top of watering and checks we had to deal with late deliveries in and out big thanks to Phil for helping out today. 💪and apologies to those that had to have deliveries today especially as the chief delivery officer- Bruce didn’t come along 🫣😆 Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you are doing 🤗
Way to go Ema @amateur_plant_mama @plantandpainthull 👏 We love you guys and all you #smallindependentbusiness the heart and soul of our communities #plantcommunity
As a family business and working mums our children have literally grown up at the nursery. It was the first place they all got brought to when they where newborn- the nurseries is their second home so as a business we love to celebrate their achievements and birthdays so this week I’m going to spam you as 3 of mine have a birthday this next week so be warned proud mama photos. Today it’s our Hannah who turns 15 today so Big Happy Birthday to the girl my dad used to call princess Hannah of Bransholme - enjoy your day darling despite being at school 🥳🎊💖💗🥂
We’ve had a big tidy up on the first main greenhouse you come into with the big desk in! We had to say goodbye to the piano 🎹 we rescued that was going to the tip 3 years ago! With the exposed elements of a unheated greenhouse it had started to fall apart so we sent it to be recycled ♻️ but we repurposed a pair of old wooden ladders we had and a few other old items from around the nursery. We think it looks great 🥰What do you think? 🤔
Welly Warning ‼️ Alternative entrance for today! Please watch to find your way in today as car park and main entrance flooded all day!! Wellies advisable oh and Debbie likes a @twiningsuk in a morning- then lots of coffee ☕️ 😆
With having this weekend off finally! It has meant no photos of plants from the nursery instead here’s some photos of the lovely grasses (and weeds🫣) in the meadow at CastleHill Aqua Green near my house. It was only opened by @envagency a few months back so it’s altering all the time as everything starts to grow. The meadow hasn’t really been accessible until now as boggy but it’s looking lovely and Bruce loves his local walks because of it. If they could just sort out the local youths on motorbikes getting onto it on an evening they’ll have smashed it!
Just because it’s Friday doesn’t make it quiet for us! Debbie from @hullcitycouncil came in to collect some plants to do the tubs outside the Chapel at Eastern Cemetery- it’s where mum and dad are so special to us ♥️ There was the usual watering duties and we had a little help from the next generation Ollie Jessica’s boy. We also helped the elderly gentleman at the top of the lane by trimming his hedge back to tidy up the lane. Ready for the weekend and a little rest. I’ve finally got a weekend off first one since March so well earned I’d say! Debbie’s off for a week soon so don’t worry she’ll get her turn too 🥰
Here’s a few of the amazing plants we have in at the moment both for home and garden. Just love the choices of colour, shapes and flow from so many plants. 💕
Busy day in the nursery but working through contract quotations means I got to browse through the breeders catalogue full of lovely plants and one full of bulbs and the choice of tulips where beautiful blew me away 💕💖💗
Final video of our houseplant collection for today, if you’re not watching the football it’s something to watch if you are there’s always after full time ( might cheer you up!🫣) enjoy 🤩
Back to beloved plant’s today and here’s the first of 3 video tours of our houseplant collection for you to enjoy over this Sunday at your leisure. Hope you enjoy and also have a fabulous Sunday whatever you are doing. If you have no plans don’t forget the @goodthingsmarket is on in #hull @fruitmarkethull packed full of amazing #indiebusiness so get down there if you have no plans. I can’t I’m at our Fred’s football presentation for his new team The Ings Ravens 🐦⬛❤️🖤⚽️
Nothing to do with plants are know but it’s armed forces day today and as a family who now have two members serving our King and country wanted to take the time out to say Thank you to all current and passed serving military personnel for the sacrifices they have made for us all and we are proud of you all 🫡♥️🇬🇧
Job done💪 I’ll not bore you anymore with my whitewashing stories after today but as I’ve spent most of this week 8 foot up whitewashing the nursery roof to protect our darling plants from the heat and intensity of the sun I feel I deserve this last one. I’ll start bugging you with plants again tomorrow but in the meantime please admire my paintwork. I’m resting my legs now as it’s been like a long workout 😅🤍
Another hot and busy day at the nursery and I got the houseplant and poinsettia greenhouse roof finished with whitewash and made a start on what we refer to as number 1 greenhouse roof. On top of this Debbie and Chris from @hullcitycouncil collected more bedding for around the city, a small delivery of plug and young plants came in to grow from @ballcolegrave and #bruce went with Phil on a delivery to the lovely folks @thewoodyard_sledmere with a delivery of plants to restock them with🪴🪴🪴 💪
