🌼 This morning at Bourne House Nursing Home, our resident John was eager to check on his snowdrop bulbs, which he planted just a month ago. We set off for an early morning walk in the garden and ended up enjoying a delightful nature stroll!

Along the way, we discovered an old racket, waved through the leaves, and admired the lovely flowers still in bloom. Together, we created a beautiful nature picture that John proudly displayed in his room.

Some of our residents at Bourne House had a fantastic time making Halloween decorations, with a few of the ladies particularly enjoying crafting some Halloween-themed purses. We wove them together using two-toned coloured bits of paper, and although it was a bit time consuming, the ladies absolutely loved it! It sparked a lively conversation about fashion, the handbags they used to own, and even the idea of setting up our own shop to sell them for a bit of pocket money! We had so much fun and shared plenty of laughs. The ladies really enjoyed themselves. 👜👜👜

After a wander around, we made a little pit stop in the café for teas, coffees, and scones before heading back in time for tea. Everyone had a wonderful time, with smiles all around as we shared memories from our childhood. It was a truly special day 🌲

This morning, the residents at Bourne House got creative making Halloween paper lanterns as part of our preparations for the Halloween competition. We broke tradition and went beyond the usual orange and black, thinking outside the box with different colours. The residents absolutely loved this craft—it was easy, quick, and fun with a great result! 🏮

"Over the past few weeks, the residents of Bourne House Nursing Home have been busy planting daffodils and tulips, getting our rose beds ready for a stunning spring bloom! 🌷 Some of the gardening was done indoors, and on nice days, we enjoyed the sunshine while planting outside. It brought back lovely memories for the residents of their own gardens, and we shared wonderful conversations about gardening.
