Brew with a view. Taking a few moments to appreciate this space. Chattering magpies, freezing feet on cold flagstones, cool damp air, humming insects, fading flowers. The light and colours are mellowing into a new season. A small space, created by me, filled with meaning and things of pleasure. The longer I sit, the more I see. The more I see the more I see the support, love and connection it offers me when I allow myself to be fully present here. Table and chairs, a wedding gift from my parents Bird bath, a gift from a dear friend Plants I love, that I chose. Plants I love, that have been gifted over the years....a peony yet to flower, climbing hydrangea nestling quietly in the corner, fading pink roses, a plant chosen by my beautiful neice for my 40th birthday, favourite colours of purple and blue (verbena and agapanthus) - gosh I do love these. Battered wooden chairs, old, rehomed from my parents downsizing years ago. A garden space created by me and filled with love, my love of gardening and creating, spaces like this, things I love in it and gifts of love to me. The interconnectedness of these plants reminding me of my connections with others. Individuals yet community. Diverse, different, placed together and finding a harmony. Constant change, movement and flow through a short existence. Feeling grateful for my garden, all the above and the mindful practice of pausing, grounding and resting in a few moments of presence in my life 🙏 Also thankful for the wisdom I find in nature.
