Originally built on the site 900 years ago and remaining a royal castle to this day, King John, Edward I and II lavished money to create one of the North's most impressive castles with the beautiful King's Tower, dry moat and walls with 12 towers. On a visit today you can discover the remains of the King's Tower, see the rare surviving Tudor Courtroom, and join a tour to scurry through the sallypo

Three Knaresborough artists are opening their doors for North Yorkshire Open Studios this year. Leila Wilson, Sherry Doyal and Shirley Hudson - a wonderful opportunity to explore their work.

North Yorkshire Open Studios is here ! Many artists will be having previews this evening giving you chance to visit your favourite choices. Have a relaxed time learning and enjoying different disciplines of art and and the hand made. Studios located right across the county, from the remote hills of the Upper Dales to the suburban streets of Harrogate, across the Vale of York to the rural North York Moors and Coast, you have the opportunity to visit unique and varied artist venues, surrounded by stunning North Yorkshire landscapes.

All artist open their doors at 10am tomorrow morning, please check brochure/online brochure for details of artists hosting previews, they have a calendar sign next to their name. The weather looks good so enjoy all the exciting work of our artists and enjoy North Yorkshire over the next two weekends !
