You can check your taster timetables ahead of time by checking your emails, this will be the one you wrote on your forms.

Please arrive at Blackpool Sixth at 9:15am at reception where you will be directed to Saint Bede's meeting point.

Our Cardinal Newman Taster Day for Year 10 pupils is tomorrow 2nd July.

Students are to meet at Cardinal Newman College as written on the letter sent out to parents at 9:15am at The Canopy.

This week we bade farewell to our fantastic year 11 cohort. However, they still showed us that they are true Bedes and one of the best cohorts since records began.😀 At the end of the exams they have been handing on revision resources to their younger peers. Passing on the torch! Passionately Catholic - Academically Excellent!

Wednesday 19th June: Grassroots Day!

This year, our school has been participating in the Grassroots Programme.

Grassroots is a group here at school dedicated to making school a better place to be for everyone. The aim of the programme is to reduce conflict and unkind behaviour and to encourage positive social relationships in which pupils show that they care, listen to each other, and feel welcome, included, and respected.
Perhaps you’ve seen or received an orange wristband, or seen one of the Grassroots posters around school?

On Grassroots Day, find the Grassroots students in their Grassroots T-shirts. Let them know how you want to make Saint Bede's Catholic High School a better place for everyone and be entered into a draw for a portable speaker!

The Grassroots students will also be at lunch, handing out Grassroots wristbands, and they will tell you more about what Grassroots is all about and hear what you have to say.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 19th June is Grassroots Day!

Years 7 and 8 have been making great use of their Excellence Booklets this week. They have been using their mini whiteboards to check their understanding of key vocabulary and lots of paired talk to rehearse answers. Amazing work Bede's 🙌

Year 10s have enjoyed their practical Science lesson learning all about crystallisation. Well done everyone 👏

The school has recently registered with ‘easyfundraising’, an online platform which supports good causes such as charities and schools, by collecting donations from brands and retailers such as Amazon. By registering, you can ensure that when you shop online with over 7,000 brands, a portion of what you spend will be donated to Saint Bede’s by the brand (at no extra cost to the customer). This will help us make improvements to the school or purchase additional resources that we would not otherwise be able to afford.

Bede's Save The Date!

St Bede's Summer Soiree will be held in the school hall 12th July at 7pm.

This will be a Performing Arts Event where we celebrate the many talents of St Bede's students. Auditions will be held in the school hall at 3.15 - 5pm on Monday 10th June and Wednesday 12th June. We are looking to showcase singers, actors, musicians, dancers and verse and prose speakers in any language. You can audition as a soloist, a duo or a group. If you have something from a dance exam, a LAMDA piece or a music grade - please come along and audition for us. If you have written your own poetry or script, we are interested. If you play in a band or an ensemble - bring your instruments and audition!

Last week saw some wonderful examples of the E from our BEDE acronym, Engagement. Year 8 visited the Grand Theatre to watch a production of The Boy at The Back of The Class. This was a hugely enriching experience for all. Thank you to Miss Rogers for organising it and our fabulous Year 8 pupils who exemplified BEDE behaviour throughout. ✨

Year 7 are now returning home from Jarrow Hall!

Our Bede's have been amazing today and have really enjoyed all of the activities.

Today our Year 7 pupils will visit Jarrow Hall and have the opportunity to learn how Saint Bede lived and learn all about why they call him Saint Bede the Venerable, Patron Saint of Scholars.
