A little dabble in watercolours. This charming little steam engine is a French 600mm gauge Decauville 030T built in 1916. I remember it from a childhood visit to the Chemin de Fer de La Froissy Cappy Dompierre on the Somme. I was happy to see it again during a visit in 2023. Naturally, I had to paint it.

Gala Steams into View! Saturday 28th September!

We’re excited for our gala which is this Saturday!

Josh Watkins Railway Artist is exhibiting amongst many other super stall holders - including this beautiful representation of our resident locomotive Moorbarrow.

While Moorbarrow is not in service this weekend, there are still lots of journeys to enjoy.

GWR 4575 Class Small Prairie 5541 departs Norchard on the Dean Forest Railway. Acrylic on canvas. This engine means a lot to me and therefore this painting is very special to me. It’s the engine that I passed my firing test on back in 2022. Really happy with how this has come out.

I was forwarded a picture from a friend who had purchased a print from me. They’d obtained a nice frame and hung the picture on their wall the very next day.

It made me so grateful and extremely proud to know that my art means something to other people and that it’s worth something!

Only 20 of these will ever be produced in this size.

I’ve got plenty of work to do yet to smarten the stall up, but I’m incredibly grateful to have been invited to a heritage railway this month to do my first market stall!
