Here are some tips on how you can set yourself some goals to hit for this week

✨Make them specific. This is more for hitting PBs, your water intake, sleep and steps.

✨How can you reach your goal? Make sure that you have a clear plan in place on how you are going to achieve the goal you have in mind. For example, if you’re wanting more sleep, switch the phone off a tad earlier than usual and set yourself a designated time to sleep by.

✨Make sure that your goal is achievable. I always think small steps. If you’re struggling to drink 3 litres of water, aim for 2 litres one week and try and increase than in increments of 150ml. This makes it a little bit less stressful and you don’t become so overwhelmed.

The only way to do great work is to love what you do. This industry is amazing and I can honestly say I fall in love with it more and more everyday.

Let’s talk about how we can mix up our training a little bit! Sometimes we can assume that we need to go heavy for every set on every session but this isn’t always the case. It’s good to take a step back from our usual routine, re-coupe and look at how we can improve on form and get the most out of our mind-muscle connections. Take my narrow grip pull down for example. Here I am focusing on making every rep count, ensuring to restart in a position that I’ll get the best engagement out of every time. I’m ensuring that my lats are engaged and my scapular (aka shoulder blades) is retracted. By retracting my scapular, I’m engaging my lower trapezius and opening up my chest which then allowed the shoulder joints to move freely. This can then prevent any impingements and can prevent damage the the rotator cuffs. (Rotator cuff injuries are not fun!) By focusing on my lats during the whole process (mind-muscle connection) I am making sure that they are switched on and they know that’s what I’m wanting to work. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is have a look at your training and take a look at what you can change to get the most out of it!
