BJJ started off as a sport I didn’t think I’d actually enjoy, I was super gentle at first.

It sounds silly but the thought of being super ‘hands on’ with people was a bit terrifying 😆

8 weeks in, beginner course at an end and I honestly can say I have ZERO regrets.

I’ll fully get stuck in now, I’ve gotten out of my comfort zone and it has been the best 8 weeks in all honesty.

I’ve met some of the BEST people, had SO much fun and have made plans to progress further in the sport.

Anyone who has been on the fence about trying a new sport or hobby, I say DO IT. 🫶🏻

(Especially if it’s BJJ!)

What a win for my lovely Fay! 💗

Started with me early March wanting to feel more confident for her holiday in July and maintain and healthy lifestyle going forward. ☀️

She had a few struggles at the start as it was such a big change for her. We tweaked some of her lifestyle habits, got her drinking more water, choosing more nutritious foods, moving more throughout the day.

The past 4 weeks she has had her graft on and look what has been achieved!

THREE THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I JOINED THE GYM 🤷🏻‍♀️

1. People will look at you but probably not in the way you think.

Is as humans, we’re nosey! We like to know what’s going on around us. 👀

Chances are if someone is looking at you, they’re either in the same position as you wanting to learn from others around them or they’re just generally being a bit nosey.

2. Being consistent is the key for progression. 🔑

Changing you’re workouts up daily or weekly is great if you’re working out to keep fit or have fun.

However, if you have that is more strength or aesthetics related, being consistent is going to be pretty important in order to progress.

3. This one is aimed at my ladies! 💃🏻

Lifting weights will NOT make you look super muscular. I wish it was that easy!
If you are training to change your physique or look a certain way, lifting weights and building muscle in conjunction with fat loss will help create more shape to your body.

Building muscle is a slow process and you need to be in a calorie surplus (in taking more calories than you are expending) in order to gain muscle quicker.

What’s your goal?

Have you set yourself targets to hit for the week? Are you prepared to hit them?

Do you know how to get there?

Here are some tips on how you can set yourself some goals to hit for this week

✨Make them specific. This is more for hitting PBs, your water intake, sleep and steps.

✨How can you reach your goal? Make sure that you have a clear plan in place on how you are going to achieve the goal you have in mind. For example, if you’re wanting more sleep, switch the phone off a tad earlier than usual and set yourself a designated time to sleep by.

✨Make sure that your goal is achievable. I always think small steps. If you’re struggling to drink 3 litres of water, aim for 2 litres one week and try and increase than in increments of 150ml. This makes it a little bit less stressful and you don’t become so overwhelmed.

She has gone from going back and fourth with Slimming World, having a bad relationship with food, not feeling confident in herself to now where she has a great knowledge of food, nutrition and doesn’t struggle to stay on track!
