Well todays been a busy one 🫣
Luckily enough I had time to sneak one of my best friends in.
I’ve been really busy with work recently and My social life has been on the back burner as In completely none existent 😬
I feel awful. I’ve been busying my self with work and I’ve not made time for people who I should of done.
So long story short she had a trim and below on the left is what she came in with and on the right is what she left with. Corrective cuts are always difficult. I take twice as many sections and cross check twice as much too. There are bits that aren’t perfect I wish the areas just behind the ear were a little longer but if I cut the base line in to match it would of been so short at the front and even more difficult for her to manage (she has the most beautiful curly hair but prefers it straight 🤦‍♀️)
I’ve loved seeing her today but would of much preferred for it to be in a bar with a few gins 🤣.
If you need a corrective cut or colour please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m not judgmental things happen I also will not badmouth other hairdressers work(we are a community and we do have to support each other)

This is actually one of my favourite hair cuts to do completely timeless and so easy to maintain. Regular cuts within a 6-12 week timeframe will keep this shape and hairlines beautifully clean and sharp.

🌈Toners only tone . . . They can not lighten your hair.

Toners are deposit only they can shift any unwanted tones in the hair by neutralising and even compleatly shifting tonal families - think warm to cool.
we have to use our knowledge of the colour when when formulating toners blue will not counteract yellow it would look green 😬

As with all colours they will fade and can last anywhere between 1-24 shampoos. I do retail some toners that are ideal for at home maintenance, they are safe to use at home and wont effect any future colour services these are colourfresh and colour fresh masks.

Toners can appear dark and scary when they are processing but that’s because its doing its job surrounding and kicking it any unwanted tones.

If you use a toner and once its completely dry you still feel its too dark it will lighten up after 1-3 washes.

Be careful not to overtone your hair this will ad depth and the vibrancy of the tones will be lost over toning using different tonal families swapping from cool-to warm-back to cool in s short amount of time will just add more and more colour pigments to your hair causing it to appear muddy.

⛔️Permanent colours aren’t visible forever⛔️

Facts: permanent means permanently CHANGES the hair structure.

Semi permanent/ quasi means some of the hair structure is CHANGED.

Temporary DOES NOT change the structure of the hair.

All hair colour will change over time even virgin hair🤔
This is due to environmental exposure - think sun UVA and UVB rays can cause natural and artificial colour to fade and/or lighten.
Pollution - if you smoke if you have coloured or even naturally white hair its porous it will start to yellow this can even happen with heat.

The only way to maintain your hair colour for as long as possible is correct maintenance and aftercare.

Clarifying shampoos(used on greasy hair types or flakey scalps) will fade colour quicker then a pH balanced shampoo or a shampoo that is sulphate and parablen free. That said wella is ph balanced inline with Wella’s colour family. Every brand of professional colour will have their own recommended shampoo and conditioner that is pH matched to compliment their own colour line. ➡️ that is my reasoning for not recommending colour protecting shampoos and conditioners from supermarkets or other retailers they can not be scientifically matched to professional colour brands as they all have their own different pH value.

We did a full head highlight and then toned with a beautiful soft baby pink and copper for a frosted peachy look finished off with a cut for a blunt fresh cut look 🥰

Sister act 👯‍♀️ I couldn’t have my sister go on her travels with out a fresh colour. We need longevity so she’s using the recommended maintenance products she needs to take her through to December. Full face framing place@ent highlights 5/02 roots melted 7/97 7/86 through the mid And finally 9/97 and 10/6 on the ends for this beautiful señorita 💃

🏆The award for the longest thickest hair goes to Ava!
Regular trims to take of split ends.
Split end can lead to the hair ”fraying” it then snaps off much higher than the original split end. This weakens the baseline of the hair - causes more split ends- weakens further more the baseline and the snapping cycle begins once again.
Shampoos that claim to mend split ends don’t work they tend to coat the hair and using more heat to make the hair smoother due to the coating-you’ve guessed it- does even more damage.
I hate the c word with a passion but 🙈We are now taking appointments through to Christmas so make sure to book right through especially if you’ve got a big night out 😊

New school year = new hair 🥰
My client has the most beautiful curly hair but as a treat we popped a slight wave throughusing cloud 9 wide plate straighteners. A slight trim as we’re growing it but pleanty of layers and thinning in bulky areas to encourage the nature curl pattern and to de-bulk the triangle appearance curly hair can sometimes settle in. She has virgin hair and can be very frizzy and look dull so I used colour wow saturating the hair (as colour wow advise) in colour wow dream coat.
Colour wow dream coat will last 3-4 shampoos so when this little lady washes her hair the next time it won’t be as frizzy as it can be therefore she’s getting much longer out out her blow dry 💕

I’m in a predicament at the moment,
I’ve had a no show this morning, this client had 3 hours of my time booked out just for them. This appointment would of cost £102. I know emergencies can happen and such but our policy states 24 hours notice in advance to cancel your appointment.
Because appointments are in demand I always run a cancellation list but seen as I gave this client the benefit of doubt incase they were running late I consequently left it too late to call anyone on my list - they wouldn’t of made it to me in time.

From Tuesday all new client will have to pay 20% at the time of booking. This booking fee will be returned if the appointment is cancelled giving 48 hours notice. Any appointment cancelled within 24 hours will loose the booking fee and if a new appointment is arranged will have to pay the booking fee again.
I really didn’t want to do this but I have to protect myself. The cost of product is rising -just like everything else. My appointment are in demand ,Having someone book out such a large appointment when I could of done 3 other clients is really disappointing to say the least especially on a Saturday.

It’s been a crazy busy day,
Creative colour takes time it has to be done correctly or it can look a multitonal mess.

We decided on block colouring so we get different looks depending on if the hairs straight ,up, down, curly if the parting is changed etc. the exact placement is the key to a variety of looks.

Here we used blondor and wellaplex to get the regrowth right up to a level 10 and still keep the health and integrity of the hair.

For the teal/ petrol colour blocks I used some intensive pigment boosters- I’m keeping this recipe a secret for now. 🤫
You wouldn’t believe the colours combined to make this beauty even if I told you so💕
We’re already plotting the next colour 🤭

So we didn’t wait until next time we did This colour change took 3hours 30 mins.
We went in doing a bleached root then dragged down where needed. This was because we were transitioning from highlights to a full global bleach. We processed for the full 50 mins and I then applied a wet bleach ( I’ll do a post all about bleaches for education another time).
This was left to process until an even canvas was achieved. Lynne then cut and it was back to me for the toner.

I used shinefinity applied using a bowl and brush. I’m keeping this toners recipe under wraps for now 🤫
I knew I needed to tone on the level we lifted and I also wanted some pinky / purple/ violety vibes. Wellaplex obviously used throughout.
