Dogs and Business: The Loyalty Link to Success
When we think of loyalty, often the first image that springs to mind is that of a faithful dog, a creature renowned for its unwavering devotion to its owner. This intrinsic attribute of dogs, often heralded as man’s best friend, provides not only companionship but also a potent metaphor for the kind of loyalty that can drive a business towards exponential growth and success.
The Essence of Canine Loyalty
Dogs are celebrated for their loyalty; they are creatures that stick by their owners through thick and thin, offering unconditional support and never wavering, even under the most trying circumstances. They are there during moments of joy and gloom, providing a steady presence that enriches our lives. This loyalty is rooted in a deep-seated pack mentality, where the well-being of the pack, or in domestic settings, the family, is paramount.
Translating Canine Loyalty into Business Growth
In the business world, fostering a culture that mirrors the loyalty of a dog can be incredibly beneficial. When teams are built on the foundation of mutual trust and commitment, the workplace environment morphs into a more supportive and cohesive unit. Just as a dog relies on its pack, employees thrive in a setting where they can depend on each other. This trust leads to enhanced communication, increased cooperation, and ultimately, a more productive and innovative workforce.
Choosing the Right Pack
The key to harnessing this potent dynamic lies in selecting the right team. Just as a dog’s loyalty is instinctual to its pack, business leaders must be discerning in assembling a team of individuals who exhibit these loyal traits. This means looking for partners and employees who are committed not just to personal success but to the collective success of the company.
When loyalty in business mirrors that of a dog to its owner, every member of the team understands and shares the vision and goals of the company. They are more likely to go above and beyond, contributing not just their time and skills, but also their passion and dedication to the project at hand.
Loyalty Begets Loyalty
It is also crucial for leaders themselves to demonstrate loyalty to their team. Just as a dog’s loyalty is often a reflection of how they are treated, employees reflect the commitment and respect they receive from their leaders. When business leaders treat their teams with respect, fairness, and integrity, they cultivate a culture of loyalty that infuses every level of the organization.
In turn, this environment encourages employees to remain with the company long-term, reducing turnover and building a wealth of experience and expertise within the team. Moreover, a loyal team is more likely to provide exceptional service to customers, enhancing the company's reputation and fostering growth through positive word-of-mouth.
Stronger, Bigger, Better
The parallels between a dog’s loyalty and business success are evident. Companies that understand and implement the essence of this loyalty are poised to grow stronger, expand bigger, and perform better. They are equipped to weather economic storms and navigate market uncertainties with agility and confidence.

A woman inquires, "How much are your eggs?"
The elderly vendor responds, "50p each, madam." The woman says, “I’ll take six eggs for £2.50 or I'm off.”
The old salesman replies, “Take them for the price you wish, Madam. It's a good start for me as I haven't sold a single egg today and I need this to survive.”
She purchased the eggs at a discounted rate and left feeling victorious.
She then drove away in her luxury car to a high-end restaurant with her friend. They ordered extravagantly, ate sparingly, and left much of their meal untouched.
They settled a bill of £150, leaving a £200 note with the restaurant owner and insisting he keep the change as a tip.
This scenario might appear normal to the restaurant owner but seems profoundly unfair from the perspective of the egg vendor.
The question this raises is:
Why do we always need to display dominance when buying from those in need?
And why are we generous to those who hardly require our charity?
I remember reading about a father who would purposely buy items from less fortunate sellers at elevated prices, even if he didn't need them. Often, he paid more than asked.
I was taken aback. Once, his son asked him, "Why do you do this, Dad?" His father answered, "It's charity wrapped in dignity, son."
I want to challenge each of us to strive for better. We can indeed do that.

Apparently Gareth Southgate handed his resignation to the FA. They passed it back, he passed it to Bellingham, he passed it sideways to Kane who passed it back to the keeper.

Another 5-star review. Danny joined me three months ago in the "Ultimate Edge Business Partnership." I adhere to the principle of "do a great job and ask for a review." Our unique approach is nearly impossible to duplicate, built on years of trials and errors followed by years of success. Forty years later, here we are, an overnight success. 💯💯💯
Love this! 🥰
A British businessman visited Japan and was impressed by their systems, prompting him to ask his Japanese host: "How come you are all so clever and were able to build such a remarkable country?"
The Japanese man replied: "Actually, you are cleverer."
The Briton, surprised, asked: "How so?"
The Japanese explained: "Among every 10 Japanese, there is one clever person and nine who are below average, while in your case, there are nine clever individuals and only one below average."
He continued: "We place the clever person in a leadership position and the other nine simply follow his directives, whereas you place the only below-average individual in charge and force the nine clever ones to follow his directives. That's why you think we are all clever."
An old man meets a young man who asks:
“Do you remember me?”
And the old man says no. Then the young man tells him he was his student, And the teacher asks:
“What do you do, what do you do in life?”
The young man answers:
“Well, I became a teacher.”
“ah, how good, like me?” Asks the old man.
“Well, yes. In fact, I became a teacher because you inspired me to be like you.”
The old man, curious, asks the young man at what time he decided to become a teacher. And the young man tells him the following story:
“One day, a friend of mine, also a student, came in with a nice new watch, and I decided I wanted it.
I stole it, I took it out of his pocket.
Shortly after, my friend noticed the his watch was missing and immediately complained to our teacher, who was you.
Then you addressed the class saying, ‘This student’s watch was stolen during classes today. Whoever stole it, please return it.’
I didn’t give it back because I didn’t want to.
You closed the door and told us all to stand up and form a circle.
You were going to search our pockets one by one until the watch was found.
However, you told us to close our eyes, because you would only look for his watch if we all had our eyes closed.
We did as instructed.
You went from pocket to pocket, and when you went through my pocket, you found the watch and took it. You kept searching everyone’s pockets, and when you were done you said ‘open your eyes. We have the watch.’
You didn’t tell on me and you never mentioned the episode. You never said who stole the watch either. That day you saved my dignity forever. It was the most shameful day of my life.
But this is also the day I decided not to become a thief, a bad person, etc. You never said anything, nor did you even scold me or take me aside to give me a moral lesson.
I received your message clearly.
Thanks to you, I understood what a real educator needs to do.
Do you remember this episode, professor?
The old professor answered, ‘Yes, I remember the situation with the stolen watch, which I was looking for in everyone’s pocket. I didn’t remember you, because I also closed my eyes while looking.’
This is the essence of teaching:
If to correct you must humiliate; you don’t know how to teach “
Unleashing Your Inner Superpowers
We often think of superpowers as something out of a comic book—flying, invisibility, or super strength. But what if I told you that every one of us possesses unique superpowers? Yes, you have a superpower too! It's just a matter of recognizing and harnessing it.
Discovering Your Superpower
Every individual has a unique set of strengths and abilities that make them special. Your superpower might not be as flashy as shooting webs from your wrists, but it's powerful nonetheless. It could be your empathetic nature, your knack for problem-solving, your creativity, or your ability to bring people together. These strengths are what make you unique and invaluable.
Embrace Your Genius
Albert Einstein once said, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." This profound statement highlights the importance of recognizing and valuing our individual strengths. A fish is not meant to climb a tree, just as a bird is not meant to swim underwater. Each creature excels in its own environment, utilizing its unique abilities. Similarly, you shine brightest when you leverage your inherent talents.
Working to Your Strengths
Instead of focusing on your weaknesses or trying to conform to what society expects, invest time in developing your strengths. Here are a few steps to help you harness your superpower:
Self-Reflection: Take time to understand what you excel at. What activities make you lose track of time? What do others often praise you for?
Seek Feedback: Ask friends, family, or colleagues about what they see as your strengths. Sometimes, others can see what we might overlook.
Cultivate Your Skills: Once you've identified your strengths, work on honing them. Take courses, read books, and practice regularly.
Apply Your Strengths: Find ways to incorporate your superpower into your daily life and work. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes.
The Impact of Embracing Your Superpower
When you start working to your strengths, you'll notice a significant change in your confidence and productivity. You'll feel more fulfilled and motivated, as you're engaging in activities that resonate with your natural abilities. Moreover, by embracing your unique superpower, you contribute to a more diverse and dynamic world, where everyone's individual strengths are recognized and valued.

Smarter marketing & highly effective selling techniques
I love it when people say to me "David, I tried that, and it worked!"
Just as Tony Robbins has studied behaviours in people helping them understand themselves and how to get the best results, I have done the same with advertising & marketing.
In the early days, I sold magazine adverts, billboards and spent nine years with Thomson Directories learning the craft of not just selling, but helping people buy what they needed and what would work for them.
It took a few years from selling £200 ads to have clients spending up to £200,000 a year. I learned a lot from all these businesses, and I know they did from me.
After spending ten years helping small SMEs to multi-million-pound companies with their online advertising, I am more than qualified to help you and your business.
Whether you need retargeting* Marketing support or coaching & mentoring, give me a call on 01977 520761 and find out about how I can help you and your business with smarter marketing & highly effective selling techniques.
