This week our residents enjoyed a trip on The Spirit of Endeavour, taking a cruise out towards Keighley. 🛥️

Beautiful scenic views along the way, seeing lots of nature 🌳🦌🦆🦢🦌 picnic lunch was served on board, including a couple of glasses of wine while residents enjoyed the views.🍷 🧺 🍺

🇫🇷 Today we celebrated all things French! 🇫🇷

Residents enjoyed French food all day, along with lots of French Fun… Eiffel Tower Crafting, Quizzes, we even jetted off to France with an afternoon of Armchair Travel 🧳✈️

This evening we invited our loved ones into Weavers Court to continue our celebrations for a Pop-Up Restaurant and of course our meals were served by French Waiters. 🇫🇷🥰

Merci beaucoup to all who attended and bravo to all who made our French Day so special! 🇫🇷💙

Residents took a trip out to Bradford Industrial Museum today taking us on a trip down memory lane with old machinery, garments, cars & other various artefacts.

Suzanne commented that the trip brought back memories, especially when seeing the cars, as they reminded her of a car her family once owned.

David commented that his father was a manager in a mill & explained what each machine was and how it was used.

Another fantastically busy weekend at Weavers Court…..

👉Our baking skills were on point with some delicious cupcakes. 🧁
👉Relaxing afternoon in the cinema with Andre Rieu and a couple of glasses of wine! 🍷
👉Painting our own Plant Pots ready for National Rose Day. 🌹🪴
👉Therapeutic morning of flower pressing & listening to some relaxing music. 🎶 🌸

Yesterday we celebrated Yorkshire Day by enjoying all things Yorkshire followed by an afternoon in the sunshine…our putting skills were on point! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

One of our married couples at Weavers Court, John and Sue used to own an MGB GT in the 1970’s.
They were thrilled today to spend some time with our owner, Andrew and his 1974 MGB GT with John enjoying a much anticipated drive out into the local countryside.

John said he “thoroughly enjoyed” the ride out, remarking that the whole car felt “very familiar”.
Literally, a drive down memory lane!

Last week we were delighted to host a Dementia Workshop with our Quality Director Maria.

Maria has vasts amounts of expertise & knowledge with Dementia Care, we felt this workshop would be useful for Family members, Residents & Guests to gain an understanding of their loved one living with a dementia diagnosis.

We gained brilliant feedback from this workshop with guests quoting, fabulous presentation with lots of information and practical advise/guidance.

Christina, our Activity Assistant invited residents & staff to her Gender Reveal, residents enjoyed some quizzes, guess the gender & weight and much more before the big reveal..….

Thank you to all who attended today’s “summer” BBQ…the weather wasn't on our side but our residents & guests had a lovely day with delicious food & the best company! 💙🍔🍷☔️

Today we had our first seaside trip of 2024 to Bridlington & what a fantastic day it was!! 🐚☀️

Residents had a stroll along the promenade taking in the fresh sea air, seaside fish and chips and of course, we had fun in the amusement arcades. 🎟️

It was wonderful to hear them reminiscing of their childhood trips to the seaside and later on, taking their own children. 🥰

Another great fitness session with Sophie today and a very special little visitor Willow, who was eager to show the residents her new teddy bear 🧸🥰

Today we headed out to Harewood House for The Great British Class & Motor Show.

The Motor Show had hundreds of classic cars & bikes, a real treat for our motor enthusiastic! 🚙
We also enjoyed a lovely walk near the beautiful historic house and lawns & found a lovely area to have a picnic.

They even spotted some cars they remembered owning and enjoyed talking about the interior of lots of them, a fantastic day was had by all!

Some of our residents requested a ladies day out to the cinema…so we did just that….🎦🍿

Jacqui, Suzanne, Janet & Pat went to the Vue Cinema in Kirkstall, they had the most fabulous day amongst friends, finishing the afternoon off with a meal and of course ice cream at Bridgewater Arms.

Jacqui said, “I had a wonderful day out, I’ve never been to the cinema before, it’s been brilliant.”

Janet who has recently moved into Weavers Court said, “it’s been such a lovely day, thank you for making me feel so welcome.”

Our wonderful Betty appeared in the Yorkshire Post reminiscing her beloved father, William E Cooke, and all he achieved for West Yorkshire, William was a true pioneer for environmental causes.

It’s not everyday that someone reaches the incredible milestone of 102 years old, please join us as we send birthday wishes for Evelyn! 🥰🥳🎁

We asked Evelyn how she would like to celebrate such a milestone birthday, her response, “I would like cupcakes for all who visit me and to share fish and chips with the team” 🥰
