Creating a circular economy we re-use where possible pre-loved items, by cleaning, renovating or upcycling.
Where this is not possible we strip the item back to its core components and re-process, upgrade or recycle these to be used in various industries.

Calling for your help! Why not nominate Bye Bye Bed Ltd for the Kirklees Recycling Hero Award. https://orlo.uk/TJyWn
Protecting the bedding industry and environment with its revolutionary circular economy solution. Preventing what would be an inevitable huge hike in the traditional mattress recycling gate fee by us raising the value of the 70% of separated components that have historically had zero value. Our ability to use 100% of the separated components across a whole range of sustainably manufactured products is key to providing an ethical end destination for post consumer mattresses. Quite simply we have to be able to reduce the traditional mattress recycling gate fee to a price equal to or less than it costs to divert a mattress to landfill if we are to assist the National Bed Federation in its bid to divert 75% of mattresses from landfill by 2030.
More so from the 4.75 million mattresses still entering UK landfill sites and the 2million that is currently being recycled we have to be able to offer an ethical re-use for each and every component to prevent what would be an inevitable hike in mattress fraud. A continuation in the traditional and historical approach of selling components back out into industry will only compound the problems that the industry is currently trying to overcome.

"How significant is the UK's Furniture Waste Problem"
February's edition of the Furniture News
February edition of the Furniture News interviewed industry experts!
Proud to be recognised as one of the very few!. We are afterall newbies to the recycling industry.
The article details the answers from each of the industry experts.
I believe our grass route, non greenwashing, non greenshifting answers get deep to the core and are the only real solution to this worldwide, historical problem. Our solution avoids the easy option to impose a tax, known and described as an EPR 'Extended Producer Responsibility' which inevitably the consumer ends up paying for. We look at the bigger picture and therefore look to reduce costs so that an ethical disposal route is the favoured choice both environmentally and financially.
Our plans for 2023 will fast track our solution.
Waste not, want not - Issuu The UK furniture industry is becoming increasingly mindful of the environmental impact of waste product – but what of its looming economic impact? 5 Whys for the necessity of an ethical, circular and sustainable solution to post consumer end-of-life mattresses
Why are end-of-life (EoL) mattresses a worldwide problematic waste stream?
Why is it unlkely that we will not meet the 2028 target of 75% diversion from landfll?
Why are 76% of EoL mattresses still going to landfill?
Why out of the 24% of mattresses sent for recycling are only 14% of materials recovered (real rate)?
Why are mattress (and furniture) fly-tipping incidents increasing?

An ethical Mattress Recycling Operation dedicated to cleaning up the industry and ensuring that we protect the planet for generations to come
♻️Converting a product that was deemed 100% Waste
♻️Guaranteeing that 100% of the mattresses we receive avoid landfill
♻️Finding a circular solution for 100% of the separated components
♻️Creating products that are 100% recyclable
Now lets face it, you can't get anymore circular than this
Just 2 months away from the Global Good Awards we reassess what we have achieved in just over 2 years. Good luck to all other participants in all categories.
thinking meant that we have tackled Mattress Recycling from a totally different angle and our 892% growth rate over 2 years is testament to our commitment to revolutionising the world of sustainable manufacturing from end of life mattress components. Thanks to mattress recyclers before and after us, who we have been fortunate to discuss and brainstorm with and agree that afterall the future of our planet is at stake here.
It was immediately clear in the early stages that:
* Only 30% of materials had a re-sale value of any significance and therefore was obviously a critical deciding factor for operations to consider either shredding or landfilling mattresses. Landfilling was out of the question and an alternative for sending fibre shred for EFW was seen as crucial
* Current and passed reprocessors were found to be already upto capacity. Our aggressive minimisation of discard is crucial in preventing a shift from the current landfill crisis to a manufacturing crisis
* Incorrect and dishonest use of components such as springs and foam. Undisclosed use of recycled content has driven mattress prices to an all time low with non compliant, unfit for purpose products been sold direct to the unsuspectng consumer. We highlight true manufacturing costs and set a clear differentiation between recycled and new! We re-align pricing and clean up the industry reputation.
* Unnecessary energy, emissions and resource used to process materials that already yielded good condition components suitable for re-use. We prevent the need to divert mattresses and materials both locally and abroad where traceability can be lost. Reducing congestion, emmissions and power in the reprocessing of materials of good integrity following our cutting edge sanitisation and repair.
Considering the difference between Recycling and a Circular Economy: [Recycling begins at the end - the 'get rid' stage of a product's lifecycle. The circular economy, however, goes right back to the beginning to prevent waste and pollution from being created in the first place] Bye Bye Bed Ltd www.byebyebed.com looked at the recycling of end of life mattresses whilst Reborn Products looked at the design and remanufacture of products from 100% of the separated components whilst considering the hierarchy of the 5 R's:
You can not get anymore circular than using an existing, problematic and historical waste stream as your core raw material to manufacture a plethora of products of the same integrity, the same cleanliness and the same legal compliance than a product manufactured from virgin raw materials but at a fraction of the price and a tiny fraction of the ecological impact.
Our expansion plans and investment opportunities will perfect and further develop existing lines thus enabling us to involve and assist mattress recyclers worldwide
Process Operators required at our 24hr 7day per week operation just minutes from the IKEA at jct 27 of the M62.
The role involves manual lifting of bulky end of life mattresses and the manual deconstruction of each one using knives and other sharp instruments. Correct separation of the individual components between both product composition and good/ bad condition materials prior to sanitising.
Working 12hr shifts, this physically demanding role involves working to tight deadlines in a very fast paced environment.

No words can explain how pleased we are to have been notified that we are finalists in this years Global Good Awards🎉♻️
Our commitment and dedication to find a circular, ethical and sustainable solution for 100% of the mattress components that we have manually deconstructed and separated from the 100% of post consumer mattresses that we receive in is finally paying off.
This is a Global Award and we will be up against the worlds best in our category for Circular Economy. The likes of Microsoft Corporation who are in our category will no doubt have the technology, the management, the systems and teams in place but we are confident that our grass route, revolutionary solution for one of the worlds most problematic waste streams will stand out from the rest and put up a good fight💚🌍💙
