Wainmans Pinnacle

**Wainman's Pinnacle** is a notable landmark located near the village of Cowling in North Yorkshire, England. It is also sometimes referred to as "Cowling Pinnacle." The monument sits on Earl Crag, a ridge that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the Aire Valley and the moors of the Yorkshire Dales.

The tower was built in 1816 by Richard Wainman as a memorial to his son, who died during the Napoleonic Wars. It is sometimes referred to as a folly due to its decorative nature and lack of practical function.
