One of our first Apple Mac software 'Tools' was FileMaker.

It had answers to all our aspirations:
• Graphics (Artistic, Engaging, Colour logical, Layouts)
• Data Storage (Text, Images, Files...)
• Simple Programming (Excel-like maths)
• Scripting (Saving workflows for buttons, Find, Sort, Summarise)
And made all this look beautiful, clear and obvious.

That was 1991! Who knew a database could be so empowering? liberating!

Now, it has kept pace with our world of integrations—connecting with computer directories, other apps, devices, SQL, the web, [API]...

Every solution starts with a sketch, a workflow, envisioning how people, data, and output look and interact. This leads to a prototype to test viability, using sample files, locations, and importantly, hardware—computers, internet, portables, printers, communications... It can all be automated.

Today, the possibilities are endless, transparent, editable, and fun!

780Gb Apple Migration Assistant?
Leading the way

The documented way for Users to Migrate their User Accounts to a new Mac is by using Apple Migration Assistant … however we have found this not to be ideal and to recently cause permission issues for Desktop and Networking that cannot easily be overcome.

In this case the User had 96Gb of historical ‘On My Computer’ emails to move over along with Photos, a Desktop of 560GB and other unique settings.

The only sure way was to T-boot from their INTEL iMacBook Pro to their new M2 MacBook Air and manually move/clone/copy across the important folders. Though it took 9 hours it was perfect on first boot up on the new MacBook! ;-)
