π Classic VW/AUDI Service and Repair - Engine Conversions - Restoration Work - Custom Projects
Thatβs the 4motion serviced and ready to go to its new owner. Great driving car this one and sounds so sweet β€οΈ
Shout out to Fine Line Detailing for a great valet too π
Few days spent on this Smokey bu**er
Lots of boost leaks after pressure test sorted inc snapped inlet line, spider hose, one way valve under inlet⦠did a compression test and all good , cleaned plugs off etc
Redid pressure test and holding pressure fine with no boost leaks - Took out for test drive with full boost and passenger turbo ate itself 10x more smoke ππ
At least I know now and thank god itβs not rings!! Turbo upgrade time!! π₯π₯
Todayβs job - bringing this dull red paintwork back to a nice shine π
Picked this little gem up the other day
Full Cupra 20vt conversion
Flipped axle
Rear disk conversion
3 stage paint
Rs recaros in great condition
Plus loads more
Will be prepping for sale soon π
Had a lovely ABF swapped cabby in the last few days..
Car was bogging down when hot and refusing to start with general lumpiness through the rev range
Full going over was needed inc tracing wire faults, sensor faults, lose wires and grounds, vacuum leaks, fueling problems plus loads more!
Car now starts on the button hot or cold and is a lot smoother through the revs!
A few late ones in the workshop but things are slowly taking shape
Extended arches are nearly done.
Welding and repair work to slam panels getting there.
Kerscher kitted cabby doors are on with new hinges from Heritage. (Not the easiest of jobs but doors are fitting well)
A few more days at it and I think Iβll be ready to move onto prepping the engine bays and other panels!
Lots of bodywork going on this week
Started to fill and shape the fabricated arches I started a few weeks ago
Also started work on the ABF turbo Kerscher kitted cabby π
Started the week off welding and repairing the front panel and quickly decided to smooth out the bay inc battery tray, bonnet stay stuff, various brackets - keeping the rain tray on this one tho!! will be losing the breaker bar, servo and all holes in the bulkhead minus water lines, new loom location hole and steering rack will be welded up and smoothed
Most of the fiberglass repairs and cracks have now been repaired on the rear quarters with stress points reinforced where the panels meet etc
A very good black roof has gone on too with black liner
Also invested in a sanding hoover ππ
Happy so far but loads (and loads) to do
Project corrado taking shape!
Sill pieces welded in to passenger side (still loads more to do around the car)
Engine in on its mounts
Most of the old wiring has been checked and rewrapped
A load of stuff with the powder coaters - happy days π
Slowly getting this pd150 swapped mk4 back on the road
New clutch bleed block
Clutch pedal master cylinder
New thermostat, bottle and cap plus coolant flush
Next on the list is abs module and sort the new heated seat switches and airbag wiring for the recaros π
Few more hours spent on the cabbys extended arches -found loads more rot on the way but all cut out and new metal welded in.. doesnβt look the best but itβs solid atleast
Just the passenger side to finish off and then I can start with the filler π
With a few cars out the workshop recently Iβve been able to get this mental half done project on the ramp for inspectionβ¦ not sure what this person was thinking about when they made this roof π³. Also, they liked a bit of filler π€’
Surprisingly underneath is pretty solid though with only the rear arches getting the most bodges!! Ive removed as much of it as possible to get back down to bare metal.
Ive also decided to fabricate extended arches for a bigger dished wheel π
With the mk3 golf gone to a new owner I thought Iβd grab this for the shop - PD150 swapped golf estate with added go faster stripes, gold wheels and a side exit exhaust π₯π₯
Change wheels π§
Take off strips π§
Reroute exhaust π§
Needs a few other bits but it goes well and will be well capable of pulling the car trailer ππ
Mk5 golf in for bonnet cable replacement plus slam panel mech
Last little bits sorted on this lovely mk1 before it left the other day..
After market throttle cable broke at the mot station (luckily after the test) - good use of a cable tie to get back to the workshop π
Genuine cable fitted along with a genuine bulkhead grommet π
Cleaned with new strips sewn in ππ
3 x carpet sets for 3 x cabbys cleaned ready for new edging to be sewn on π
PD130 swapped mk3 diesel on daily duties for a bit - few little niggles to sort but a very fun car to drive π
Will be updating progress on this lovely cabbys lumpy idle issue, brake creepage, a few electric niggles and basic tart up ready for a possible sale!!
First call is replacement of the suspect throttle body gasket, shot idle screw o ring and get some better sealing jubilees ππ
Abandoned gti project in the workshop - lots to do but first a bit of polish and a wheel swap to get motivated π
Clean cabby time π
Good progress being made on the mega build!!
Bodykit going on and tyres on the rsβs to test clearance for air π
Many days/weeks spent extending/rerouting wires
Next on the list to finish is the servo delete and brake lines
Happy so far π
AGU getting an overhaul
Timing belt with manual tensioner conversion
Water pump + thermostat
Rocker gaskets as the spark plugs were soaked in oil
Bottom pully plus bolts
Test colour of the splits but think we gotta go a lighter silver - full split down incoming, with new bolts etc etcβ¦ only one way to do it πͺπͺ
Day 3 of project e36 and Iβve started the slow task of refurbing these rare Kerscher 3 piece splits! π
My biggest achievement yet getting this low bu**er on the ramp - absolute mish!! ππ
Well thatβs come up better than I thought - e36 in the workshop having a few jobs done π
Nice little Friday job,, soldering new EGT boards in
My s4 has been lacking a bit of boost recently and kept coming up with and intermitant exhaust gas temp code - used plenty of these boards from Sidmotorsport in the past so well worth the effort to get new boards in rather than spend mega money on EGT sensors ππ
Spent a few hours on this today. Lots still to do but starting to look like an engine again.
Next on the list is completing the servo delete and installing the fluid pots, hydro lines and finishing brake lines π€π»
Non vvt to vvt swap Audi b5 1.8t
Chain tensioner
Chain
Cam gear
All gaskets inc leaking rocker and spark plug gaskets π
